Getting there:Whether travelling from north or south by car, we recommend that you take the highway exit on the A1 at “Firenze Nord”: follow the signs for the centre and the “viali circonvallazione” . Continue towards the Fortezza da Basso - Exposition centre and looking for P.zza Indipendenza,we are in the middle of the square at n° 5. The Amerigo Vespucci airport is 5km from the centre of Florence, a taxi ride to the Hotel Caravaggio takes approximately 15 minutes /cost 15/20 euros. Otherwise outside of the airport take shuttle bus for the centre /20 minutes. By train - as you walk out of the central railway station /Santa Maria Novella/ take the left exit, / McDonald''''''''s side/on the right side of McDonald''''''''s you find via Nazionale, walk in for 5 minutes you will see a square Piazza Indipendenza, we are the second hotel on your right side n.5.

Nice place to stay with family, the staff is friendly. Good value for money.
Traffic noise from the street was louder than I was expecting.
Of the 3 hotels booked in Italy through this website, this is the only one I would definitely return to. It is well run, pleasant responsive staff; everything in the room worked including the air conditioning, pleasant clean and nicely decorated room with a nice working shower my very tall husband could use without flooding the bathroom! We have no complaints on our 5 night stay and look forward to going back. (We have stayed in Florence on many visits over the years, so have quite a frame of reference from a variety of accommodations)

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Handy location just 10 minutes from the station. Try to gey rooms at the back overlooking the very quiet and tranquile garden. Room clean and comfortable, bathroom a little small with shower but adequate.

Our stay at the caravaggio was a pleasant experience, the staff were friendly and the hotel was within easy walking distance of all the sights. We booked it at short notice and got a v. good rate. A longer stay would have perhaps been nice in a hotel with a pool and would have been worth paying more for but this was just right for a short stay.
Staff were very friendly and helpful. Having internet access available at the hotel is a definite plus.

This is a great place to stay! I got a really big room for the cheap price I paid. There's a sofa, desk, cupboard and minibar. Bathroom was exceptionally clean. Everything looks brand new. My room was facing the back, but even so the view is great. Breakfast was good.
Close to the train station but very safe. Lovely rooms and pleasant staff, very helpful. Would stay there again.
