Caravelle Hotel, standing at 19 Lam Son Square, across from the Opera House, is a five-star international hotel strategically located in the heart of Saigon. The hotel opened in 1959, boasting a suite of amenities never before seen in Saigon, including bulletproof glass, a Berliet generator and Trane air conditioners (a first for any hotel in the city). In 1998, after more than two decades of operation on a shoestring budget, the aging landmark was resuscitated with a complete renovation and a complementary, 24-storey tower. Caravelle’s modern design combination of French and Vietnamese architecture promotes an ambience of relaxed conviviality despite being 50 years old. 335 superbly appointed rooms and suites with 5 restaurants and bars, renowned for gourmet food delicacies. Famous roof-top Saigon Saigon Bar has changed little since 1959 where it used to be the favourite hang-out for war correspondents. For conventions, 11 rooms accommodating up to 700 pax are best choice for MICE and private functions. In 2009, Caravelle celebrated its’ 50-year Golden Anniversary. The hotel has been honored with numerous local and international awards.

Experience a fabulous Ho Chi Minh holiday by staying at the Caravelle Hotel. :) Just have one observation though... The Saigon Saigon Bar has a, ummm, rather different crowd.
