"We stayed at the Carlton in mid May 2008. The hotel is currently undergoing refurbishment and is shrowded in scaffolding and plastic which was initially a bit disconcerting. However as we stayed on a friday night and left on saturday morning no construction works was being undertaken. We had a very enjoyable if brief stay. The hotel is excellently located and the staff effecient and friendly. We will certainly go back but may wait until the work is complete." - david winch
