"Lived up to its description and reviews. The property is well maintained and georgeous. It is in the beautiful Tuscan countryside and a great jumping off point to visit other cities/small towns in the area-30 min to Florence, 15 to Siena, 45 to outlets. Def need a car. Concierge is extremely friendly and welcoming and was able to help us with directions and giving suggestions to local places to visit in the area. Breakfast was amazing! Castelbigozzi is one of the oldest embattled castels of this area and it rises in the land of Strove.
In the Middle Ages this castle belonged to the ancestor of the old and noble Montanini family.
Its coats of arms well recounts its history: a red shield, like the land that surrounds it, a black lion, symbol of courage and battles, glory and defeats.
Historical chronicles in fact report that it was a place of refuge and protection for Ghibelline troops.
TOday CastelBigozzi is a tourist residence renovated maintainig the original elements of a 1200 structure and offers 14 suites all equipped with heating, air-conditioning, jacuzzi bathtub or shower, direct phone, satellite TV, safe, mini-bar.
Here you can really relax in the Tuscany countryside, without forsaking accommodation quality and enjoy the exclusive swimming-pool immersed in a natural setting.

FROM MONTERIGGIONI.
Turn right at the cross and after the bar right again in direction of Abbadia Isola and Strove, after 1 KM turn left, cross the village of Abbadia Isola and continue for 2 km, you’ll arrive at the little hamlet of STROVE.
Take the first road on the left side and follow the white road for 200 metres, CastelBigozzi is on the hilltop.
