Castle Dargan Hotel Sligo

We stayed in the 2 bed apartments in the walled garden suites with our 2 and a half year old daughter. Lovely and spacious and clean. There is a sink and a fridge but no microwave which would have been very handy. There are no childrens facilities either. A playground somewhere on site would have been good. No swimming pool either. But it is a good base for exploring Sligo, Donegal, Mayo etc. If a family member has an allergy to feather duvets then make sure you state that you need NON feather duvets when booking - otherwise they may not be available!

The hotel is situated in a very scenic location. Standards of cleanliness, maintenance and service at this hotel exceed some hotels rated as 5 star. It is a new hotel so only time will tell if these can be maintained.

Typical Golf/ Wedding venue hotel Lovely location, superb food..... but beaware of large parties of either golfers or wedding guests Stayed in one of their lodges.... was well appointed wouldstay again

Absolutely gorgoeus. Very peaceful and relaxing. A perfect, tranquil break Would definitely go back.

Beautiful setting, friendly and efficient staff, Walled garden suite fantastic value mid week

Wow, it was really nice experience. I stayed a walled garden suites, which is an apartment having two bedrooms and large living room. The room and beds were really nice. The breakfast was also excellent, and peoples were kind. The hotel is perfect especially for golfers. However, it is a little far from Sligo center for usual tourists. Driving course to the hotel is nice.

Ideal for a couple having a weekend break but just not family orientated although we did realise this in advance anyway.

Very modern & striking but difficult to find

Service was really excellent,from providing an alternative to the spacious apartment at the hotel (a more salubrious room)to late check out. An abundance of fresh flowers, interesting wine list and quality linens helped earn its 4*.

While the hotel is about 7 miles from Sligo Centre it is ideal if you just want to get away from it all. (there is a golf club adjecent) I was familiar with the area of Sligo and with the help of road signs and the on line map I was able to find the hotel with relative ease. The hotel is new, comfortable and the staff friendly. Our booking email hadn't come through on arrival as the hotel were having difficulty with receiving emails but this was not presented as a problem to us and we were promptly booked in, offered the use of the restaurant and shown to our room. Had I not booked on line I would never have thought of going out of town. I would go back to this hotel and certainly booking on line made the process easy.

We were 'upgraded' from double room to suite on arrival. The suite was in the old building and while it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable, there was a strange 'old/musty' type smell in the room. It was present the entire time. June, C.

The staff at Castle Dargan Hotel were very helpful and pleasant, lots of information about local attractions - even giving us a computer printout of directions. Food in the bar and the breakfast was excellent.

Beautiful hotel just outside sligo town. fabulous new golf course. Wonderful food and staff very friendly and helpful. Great place to stay if you have children. Great views. Very enjoyable and would go back again.

Bedroom door very noisy and disturbing for other guests,couches in apartment were not comfortable.
