A bit far from JR station. No internet access in rooms. Hotel furnishings were rather outdated. But very cheap for a night's sleep.
The service was excellent, but we conversed entirely in Japanese so I can't comment on their English ability level. The rooms were small even by Japanese standards (I have stayed in several Japanese hotels). That said, I would still highly recommend this hotel/stay with them again. It is within 5-10 minute walk of Kanazawa Station, and 20-30 min walk to the Castle and Kenrokuen Park.
Easily accessible from the station. Good breakfast.
Great location close to Kanazawa station. friendly English speaking reception staff. Free use of hotel computer for internet use. Only Japanese TV stations. No room safe. Average sized room.M/F communal baths.
The room was very small and very basic, but it was pretty much what you expect in this price range. The location was convenient (close to JR station), and there was free internet.
Rooms small and basic but adequate. Location reasonable for sightseeing. Parking cramped but OK. Did not use restaurant, but plenty of other eateries nearby.
Room was very small, but quite acceptable. The bathroom is proberly the smallest I've ever been in, but it worked and there was plenty of hot water.
The hotel is 5 mins form the JR station. The check in is easy and the staff very helpful. By western standards the rooms are small but by Japanese standards they are an average size and they contain all that a traveller needs. The breakfasts are substantial and the price is good value. This hotel is not five star but is good value for the price and its location makes it OK for being a tourist.
This is a basc hotel with excellent service and very friendly staff. I was ill and the desk clerk drove me to the hospital, organised an interpreter and came back to pick me up afterwards. You can't ask for more than this. Good food, small rooms but clean and comfortable. I will be keeping this one on my records as my Kanazaawa hotel stay. Oh and excellent prices!
The hotel is located within easy walking distance from the station and the staff were particularly helpful as we didn't speak Japanese. The little restaurant attached to the front of the hotel proved to be a great recommendation as we mixed with locals who were ready to have a good time. A tall young man on the staff who spoke good English gave us excellent service and we appreciated his efforts on our behalf. Thank you.
As I booked one day before my stay, the room availble was a smoking room, which was disturbing as I do not like smoke. But the facilities were very good. Close to everything and breakfast was very under priced, as it was a 30 dollar meal for only 6 dollars. The staf were friendly and spoke english very well.
The only inconvenience was that the ofuro (bath) was in a different building, and you have to walk outside on a ramp to get there.
For those who enjoy soaking yourself in a hot water bath and relax, the hotel is a good choice because it has got a newly opened "big public bathroom". The experience, however, is not quite the same as enjoying the traditional Japanese "Onsen" in the countryside, as the hotel is next to a main road and you can often hear some traffic noises while you try to relax. Anyway, I did enjoy this interesting experience of soaking myself in a bath tub right next the traffic.
Typical Japanese business hotel.
