The two towers of Catalina are conveniently situated in the trendy Cotton Tree area of Maroochydore, near the mouth of the Maroochy River. A private walkway leads you to the patrolled Maroochydore Beach and nearby Maroochydore Surf Club, which is only 60 metres away. Offering stylishly appointed and fully self-contained, serviced, one, two and three bed-roomed apartments as well as studio apartments. All apartments except the studios have spa baths. The well-established Catalina 1 with its spacious living areas and lovely large balconies, which enjoy the evening sea breeze, has long been popular with guests. All apartments have Cable TV and fans. Offering one, two and three bedroom apartments with full kitchens, including dishwashers, as well as Studio rooms with kitchenettes. The two and three bedroom apartments offer a choice of pool/garden views or stunning ocean views. All apartments in the more recent, Catalina II are air conditioned with ensuites. All have TV and Cable in both master bedroom and lounge. The modernly appointed apartments, with quality furnishings and finishing touches, have full kitchens including dishwashers. They also contain a CD player and Video Recorder. Just kick back, relax and enjoy the sea breeze and listen to the crashing waves. The two and three bedroom apartments offer a choice of pool/garden views or stunning ocean views.

Getting there:Situated at 47 Sixth Avenue in the Cotton Tree precinct of Maroochydore, a one hours drive north from Brisbane, on the Bruce Highway. Take the Maroochydore turnoff, travelling on Maroochydore Road (State Hwy 8). Turn right onto Horton Parade, which becomes Aerodrome Road and then left onto Sixth Avenue. Catalina Resort will be about 200 metres up the road on your right. Or from the Sunshine Coast Airport, travel south on David Low Way (State Hwy 6) get on the Sunshine Motorway (State Hwy 70) taking the exit at Bradman Avenue, which becomes Duporth Avenue. Turn left at The Esplanade, which becomes Cotton Tree Parade. Turn right at King Street, which leads onto Sixth Avenue. Catalina Resort will be about 250 metres on your left. Alternatively, we can arrange bus transfers from the Brisbane or Sunshine Coast Airports to the resort. Or, for the ultimate in luxury, we can arrange for a chauffer driven limousine to pick you up and deliver you to the resort.

We had a relaxing time and enjoyed Catalina. Our only complaint is that the unit above us must have tile floors and you could hear them dragging the chairs and walking around high heel shoes on the floor.

Only two of the AC units were working upon arrival. One not working at all, the other barely. It was sheer luck given the proximity to xmas that an air con technician was on the premises fixing other units, (not a good sign) Staff offered us an alternative far inferior ground floor unit. I tested these AC units (the same brand as the ones not working in the other unit) and it seemed to me they wre also not working either. When I commented on this I was informed that was impossible. Not a very polite response! Luckily the technician was able to regas and repair a subsequent leak at the unit we had booked (no 63) We spent the first 3 hours of our holiday sorting this out. The entrance gate lock to the pool at the rear of Cat. 2 was broken and we were unable on several occasions to gain access to the pool area. We also experienced a fire alarnm and building evacuation at 9.30pm one night when the fire brigade were called. We never knew why. All this during a four night stay!
Our family had a wonderful three night stay at Catalina Resort Sunshine Coast. We look forward to spending a whole week there sometime in the near future. Cheers to all.
We enjoyed the resort but found that having to go out around the front of the building to the back a hassel to get to the pool.
Really impressed with the modern design. Perhaps a gym could also be a consideration for management.
Great location & beautiful rooms. Kids loved having Austar in lounge while we enjoyed second TV in our room! In room spas a treat too.
A little disappointed with this place for the price.We were put in a room bigger than we booked and were told the next morning not to use the 3rd room. Only one sachet of washing liquid and diswasher liquid,and when asked if you could have more you were told no you had to buy your own.$500 for 4 nights and no servicing of room.Pretty ordinary I thought.

The facilities were clean, roomy and had a great central location on the Sunshine Coast. Highly recommended.
Once again the value for money is impossible to beat. The complex is perfectly situated on sixth avenue and walking distance to all amentities. There is nothing to complain about here.
What a great location. 150 metres from the beach and all restaraunts and swimming pool for the kids. Strongly reccomend this one for all.
