Catalonia Atenas Hotel Barcelona

Being right on a Metro station was a plus and we found a nice little cafe in a nearby square behind the hotel that had great tapas. When we arrived they couldn't find our booking though it got sorted out. The service from the front desk staff was variable depending who was on. The heaating in the room didn't seem to work so it was a bit chilly. Overall though it was basically fine

I stayed with my daughter for four nights. Service varied depending on shift, from good to average. Quite noisy hotell, we heard neighbours too well and also the hallway. Location a bit too far from ciy centre and tourist attractions but at least close to metro and renfe. Since we got a very good price (about 50 euro per night) am am still very pleased.

The Hotel is well situated but difficult to get to by car if you happen to be driving up the avenue. Garage facilities are good but naturally not cheap. i.e. Better to come to Barcelona by other means! Price was good by booking on line. English speaking staff efficient. Would use the hotel again.

I had booked two rooms, however on arrival I was informed they only had one room available for 4 persons, which was fortunate, that we had no objections as that was the original intentions when making the original booking, but this situation could have been extremely embarrassing. We were compensated by the offer of a free meal in the restaurant.

We had a fine nicely designed new style room. the materials they used were meant to be low priced so some things have scrathes easily, but it sstill looked very nice. The swimmingpool on the top of the building is small, but the views are great and there are nice chairs to lie and sit down and relax. three metrostrops away of the sagrada familia, about five to placa catalunya.

Good. Easy access by metro from anywhere in Barcelona. Just a 5 mins walk away from metro station, however, not near any fast food or restaurant. Will recommend this hotel if you prefer some quietness away from crowd/central.

The staff were not so good in english.

I think due to booking a room from a discount website had me on the backfoot with this hotel. From the moment I walked in they were very short and unfriendly. When making queries about the room they rolled their eyes and huffed and puffed. I did not even get a goodbye; just my change slapped on the table. Not recommended.

I had a room in the 9th floor, so I pretty much enjoyed staying out in the balcony. The room was TOO tiny tough i had to jump over the luggage to reach the bed. Really neat location (1min walk to the underground station and 5min to the train station).

The hotel is reasonable and the service is very good. Rooms are a bit small. The location is not in a very convenient district. The area seems a bit insecure at night. No reasonable resturant in the vicinity. A very convenient Metro service, right across from the hotel, 10 mintues to the center. Bottom line, it is not a bad solution in the busy season.

Smallish but cosy rooms. Good value food in the evening. Metro just around the corner.

After coming from a small double room in Paris this hotel was a god-send. A really good size room. Pity there was no in-room coffee/tea facilities. Excellent buffet breakfast and very friendly staff. Only 50 metre walk to Metro Clot station. Easy and quick access to all tourist venues in Barcelona. [Not the hotel for you if you want an easy walk to the beach though]. Would recommend this hotel.

The staff of this hotel helped me a lot! I came to Barcelona and noticed that Toto was playing / giving a concert. The people of the Catalonia Hotel helped me out with getting tichets ! Great !

Beside the fact to be a little bit far the down town , it is very near the underground. Very expensive to park the park on the Hotel

The location of the hotel is very good, only a few steps from Metro Clot and within 5 stops on the Metro you are in the centre of Barcelona. Although the hotel is in a very busy street, the rooms are very quiet because the windows are 3-double glass.

This hotel is at an excellent location where the underground is just across the road and Sagradia Familia is a 15 minute walk away.

Very large room and excellent ensuite bathroom. Staff reasonably helpful and the dinner buffet was good value for money. Recommended.

If you longer then 1,90m ask for a bigger bed! For thr rest a great hotel

Excellent hotel, close to metro and only 10 mins to Barcelona La Ramblas. Fantastic breakfast with wide variety of choice for every palate!! Disappointed with size of pool; more the size of a jacuzzi.

Hotel at the far end of City is well located for access to motorways (great for Grand Prix) and metro. Walking to usual tourist sites is possible although it is a long way. Breakfast reasonable, choice is limited. Rooms are fine very clean. Swimming pool is not really usable in my opinion. Parking is available although on arrival it is difficult to work out where to stop (eventually you will discover that you drive through a small pedestrian area). Staff friendly and helpful.
