Catalonia Born Hotel Barcelona

Close to the Franca Estacio railway station . Friendly staff. Charge extra for a safe in your room. The room had a bar fridge. A fifteen minute to twenty walk to the Rumbla area. Closest eating was about a 10 minute walk. Located in an old area of Barcelona, so streets are narrow. Over all fairly good value for your money.

A very good hotel with helpful reception staff. Only about 15minutes walk from La Rambla. Some nice little local bars/cafe style places in the hotel area---and only 1.50 euro for a bottle of beer in these places. A pint of Guinness in the pubs at La Rambla is over 5 euros---although that did not stop me ?. Would I go back to Catalonia Prncesa-----a resounding YES !

It would be great if you could have tea/coffee making facilities in the room. Apart from this we were very happy with our stay and would reccomend the hotel to others.

I would book to go here again. It is located in the historical part of Barcelona about 10 minutes from La Rambla and about 20 minutes walk from the port. A Metro is about 5 minutes walk away. The staff are pleasant and the rooms are very good indeed.

Nice hotel. Was in late and out early so didnt see much of it but what I saw was great. Room was big enough. Clean, and fairly new. The location is a bit odd, in that it is hard to get to for Taxi. about a 10 minute walk from Borne district and about 15 from Plaza Catalunya.

The situation is ideal, next to the up and coming Born area with its many bars and restaurants, a metro station only 5 mins walk away, a 10 mins walk from the Franca train station from where leaves a direct train service to the airport. The fact that the rooms going out to the court yard are a bit dark did'nt really bother me, because they are quiet, and I was really only there to sleep.

A lovely hotel with friendly staff. Its location is very convenient for those who want to discover the city, with the metro station right around the corner and Placa de Catalunya just a short walk away. The rooms are good size and the bathroom in the double room we had had both a bath and a separate shower, which was nice. I think other reviewers also mentioned that the rooms on the street front were noisy. That's quite true, you can 'enjoy' the sounds of local life into the early hours... But my courtside room was nice and quiet. For those whose legs are tired from walking around all day or just want something different than a tourist trap for dinner, I can highly recommend the little Chilean restaurant next to the hotel, called Hugo's. Do try their special cocktail, Pisco Sour!

Staff were nice and friendly, quiet location, lots of small bars and restaurants nearby. Fairly close to Arc de Triomf Metro Station, Parc de la Ciutadella and the Zoo and only 10-15 mins walk from Placa de Catalunya and Las Ramblas.

The hotel was pretty good, location good but further from La Ramblas than expected. Staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was good although the first morning my husband and I were given a table and then made our way to the buffet only to find that on returning to the table we we were now stuck on the centre table between two other couples and got some dirty looks from the ones we had to ask to move to get to our seats. Bad planning from the waiting staff on table allocation! We went down earlier the next morning and it was a much better table. The only other complaint is that our room was very dark and the view from the window was a blank wall! Other than that it was a clean and pleasant hotel and we would stay there again.

Very good hotel, in nice area, and with nice breakfast

Thanks to earlier comments that we read here we requested a courtyard room which (unlike the noisy rooms overlooking the street) was a very quiet place. The hotel is clean, the facilities good, the people are helpful. This was very important when we were burglaired not far from the hotel. The breakfast is excellent and so is the dinner. The latter was unfortunately not available on Saturday and Sunday but there are good and inexpensive restaurant in the close neighbourhood. To sum up: I can warmly recommend the hotel to everybody.

in walking distance to all major attractions at the outer edge of the old city, friendly reception personell, nice rooms and bathrooms, hotel can be recommended as a medium price range choice.

Quiet and peaceful hotel with very nice and friendly staff!

The hotel had been recently refurbished and the facitilies and service were good. The location was OK, within walking distance to the city. But finding the hotel was a different matter. No parking at all in front or accommodation for own vehicle. Parking rates near by were 30 Euros overnight.

A modest hotel but near where "its happening". Both the room and bathroom were excellent as was breakfasts - an English breakfast. I would pick it again next time.

Wonderful hotel and very well priced. Would use it again.
