C/ Atocha, 23 28012 - Madrid
The Catalonia Moratín hotel, which opened its doors in 2002, is conveniently situated near the famous Golden Triangle (the Prado Museum, the Thyssen Bornemisza Museum and the Reina Sofia Museum), adjacent to the historic nucleus of the city which includes the Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor. It is only a few metres away from the Plaza Santa Ana, known to be one of the best places for tapas nationwide, and close to the most popular theatres in town. The hotel building, part of the historic heritage of the city of Madrid, has kept some of its most representative, original features, such as the classical façade dating from the 18th century, the main wooden stairs and the entrance hall, which is decorated in a classical style with a genuine coffered ceiling. One of the main features of the building is its interior patio, a typical Madrid-style "corrala" adorned with wrought iron bars and embellished with flowers. Our clients have the following facilities at their disposal: a library room, a bar/cafeteria, a conference room with natural light, and a first-class restaurant in a modern setting combined with a sumptuous, classical interior.

Great physical character to the hotel and good location. The bedroom was spacious and well maintained but the bar and restaurant facilities were poor - definitely not 4 star.
Excellent, central location, but very quiet because rooms look inwards over an atrium. Excellent breakfast. It is hard to imagine better for the price. Only one criticism: the air conditioning couldn't keep the room cool, even in March.
Excelent situation, 1 minute walking to Puerta del Sol, the heart of Madrid, 10 min walking to Plaza Mayor. The rooms are renovated and very spacious.
The location was very good and rooms adequate. The frontage looks a bit shabby, but overall excellant value for money.
Excellent location for Museums and generally. Room and breakfast very good quality and lovely ambience about the renovated historic building. Would highly recommend.
Very quiet. Friendly and helpful staff. Perfect linen. The non-hotel part of the bulding in front is a bit shocking and has to be re-decorated. The breakfast is fine but not amazing. Overall, good value for money.
Very convenient location, close to Metro stop, Plaza Mayor, Prado, Reina Sofia. Spacious room and bathroom, and we liked the decor. Friendly and courteous staff. Nice bar and atrium/courtyard. Definitely recommended.
Perfect location and attention very kindly.
My wife and I only stayed one night in this hotel and despite some (little) minor points we would definitely go back at a next occasion. Spacious room, fine beds. Breakfast was indeed optimal.
We were so satisfied with the Catalonia Moratin Hotel Madrid that one day hopefully we are willing to stay at your hotel, when we go back to Madrid.
We enjoyed our stay very much. The location is great!
Stayed for three nights in October 2005 - Lovely hotel, friendly staff, excellent hygiene standard - would recommend it to anybody!
Very enjoyable stay in Madrid, only used Hotel as a base but everything was as expected with enough choice of Breakfast to set you up for a good days sightseeing.
Front desk staff were very friendly and helpful, making phone calls on our behalf to confirm flight reservations and arrange the airport shuttle. Our room was larger than expected, especially for Europe. Great location - walking distance to museums, Royal Palace, Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol.
Excellent hotel well located near Plaza Mayor. Very clean and quiet room with an excellent buffet breakfast. Stayed 3 nights and would use again.
A very nice hotel with modern rooms in an old building.
The hotel was very friendly and efficient. We did not eat in the hotel except for breakfast which was adequate and to normal 3/4 star standard. Check in and check out were efficient. Recomend for anyone staying for first time in Madrid as centraly located and quiet.
Extremely clean and comfortable hotel. Friendly, accommodating service. Good, convenient location. I would definitely stay there again.
Fantastic location - just round the corner from Palza Santa Ana so great for evening eating and drinking and a few minutes stroll from Plaza Mayor. Very clean and great buffet breakfast. Lovely hotel with lots of character.
Best experience for the best price at the time of our booking charming hotel, best location, very good value for money.
