Catalonia Royal Bavaro Adults Only - All Inclusive

Although all inclusive, tipping a few dollars goes a long way. The glasses get bigger and the staff become more attendant. Regardless, they are all incredibly polite and helpful. The food and restaurants on the adults only side are superb. Avoid the restaurants where children are allowed, the quality is less than the adult side. I was able to negotiate an upgrade price to the rooms with the private pool upon my arrival which is well worth it. Waking up to room service and champagne sitting outside by your private pool is an amazing experience and close to the beach.

Me and my wife recently returned from this resort. Wonderful people and service. The food for the most part was very good, and they kept the drinks flowing. Very clean, large room. Nice pools and amenities, grounds were beautiful (especially at night). Would go back in a heartbeat, no other resort came close for the money you pay to stay here (We've been to two other very nice resorts in the past two years). Not everyone can be 100% pleased, but we had no issues with this resort, ultimate relaxation! Tip: for what it's worth, updgrade to the next level "deluxe room" if possible. A little nicer, larger, newer, and closer to the beach.

Honeymoon was the best part of our marriage due to Catalonia Royal. We meet great people there, service people was very kind and were always looking how to make you confortable. Poolbar is great, nice caribbean music and the coctails are delicious. Best restaurant for us: Japanese.

the hotel was great the rooms were awsome! they were clean and seems like they clean the room 3 times a day. the food was not good at all! the food is more like a 3 star hotel food, and the service is horrible you ask for a simple drink and you wait 20-30 mins...while you see the waiter laughing with other waiters and not doing their job, very very unorganized. but besides the food and service my wife and i had a great time, great location and nice rooms.

We were unlucky in that two large groups were booked in when we were there you could not enjoy sitting by pool with men getting drunker and drunker and their partners talking very loudly and swearing. We stayed for 2 weeks which was probably a week too long as nothing to do unless you go over to sister hotel on site, but this is much larger, crowded and very "in your face". Food quality could be better and needs to be consistent. The service is good but expect to be tipping regularly if you want service to be maintained, it is expected. I think you should tip at end to reward good service and not have to pay up front to get it! We were delayed 6 days for our return and visited 3 other hotels and they did not approach the Royal for service and what is in the "all inclusive" package, and in 2 of the 3 cases were more expensive. If they could improve food quality, sort out tipping and provide some evening entertainment this would be an excellent resourt.
