Cavendish Hotel Eastbourne Guest Reviews

5 out of 5

We had a wonderful week in the Cavendish where we enjoyed a room with a sea-view on the first floor. Breakfast was excellent and there was almost too much choice! Being very close to the town centre we were able to walk everywhere in the evenings.(We were there for a tournament and out each day). Thanks to HotelClub we could afford to give ourselves a bit of luxury for a few days.

Excellent position on the seafront, though our room wasn't a seaview one. The room was, however, good with a kingsize bed. Only problem was it had an internal (locked) door to the next room, but you could easily hear convesation and TV through. The breakfast was excellent.

A large Victorian hotel on the sea-front, sea view rooms well worth any extra. Modernised to today's expectations but retaining character. Modern bedroom furniture and bathroom well stocked. Old style TV. Room very warm, no air-con but what are windows for? Breakfast buffet kept well stocked, full range of hot & cold foods. Plenty of restaurants (mainly Italian, plus a good Belgian) close by.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Cavendish. Had asked for a room close to lift, got one next door, but was not disturbed by it. Tried to book a meal in the restaurant on three nights, but it was booked up. Got in on fourth night at 20.00hrs were last in ,most people had left, meal was poor, and had to listen to the clatter of staff setting tables ready for breakfast. Very dissapointing.

I found this to be a relaxed but "classy" hotel - with a very pleasant atmosphere. Nice room with comfortable furnishings and an extremely good breakfast with wide choice of quality food.

Excellent hotel very near to the beach and shops. Staff friendly, would recommend to anyone, but why do they have to charge £4 per night for parking in their car park when customers have already paid to stay in the hotel? My husband is a blue badge holder and can park anywhere in Eastbourne free of charge so why not the hotel. Disabled persons should note that they cannot enter the hotel from the front (with a mobility scooter) as there are a number of steps, only from the back entrance where a ramp is provided.

Wonderful stay in beautiful and spacious room. The mattress quality could be better, but the hotel and room quality made up for that. Great service for breakfast; will definitely return and recommend...

A very nice stay. The only minus was the TV ITV local station was Central (Midlands news and weather) and BBC local station was not local either! Otherwise a very pleasurable experience and we'll definitely visit again.

I stayed at the Cavendish with my 84 yr old mother for the 1st time. We were pleasantly surprised by the relaxed atmosphere and helpfulness of the staff. The only minus was that we were put in a room where a generator started up at 6 am and continued noisily all day until early evening. This didn't deter from a good stay though. It would also have been nice to have had a little more entertainment in the evening. We were lucky enough to be there when the jazz band played (2nd week in the month) and that was great. Pity there was nothing more than this for those of us who stayed in the hotel most evenings. We enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

The Cavendish has been refurbished and is now a very pleasant Hotel with friendly staff. The room we stayed in this time was close to main air conditioning so was a little noisy and the view from the bedroom window was not particularly wonderful. Has large car park for residents, which is very useful.

The hotel is very pleasant and the staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast was very enjoyable. Only downside was not being able to park in the hotel carpark and having to park several streets away but it was possible to have a porter take baggage to and from the carpark.

This hotel is clean, well appointed, and recently decorated. Its location is very pleasant and the benifit of a Hotel Car Park in such a location is big plus.

This hotel is currently being refurbished and disruption is experienced. The service at breakfast was very poor,no doubt as a result of the dining area having been relocated. I have stayed at this Hotel on numerous occasions without complaint and will use it again. Whilst the hotel is being refurbished guests may experience inconvenience.

Pleasant room, though somewhat bemused that despite the effort & money spent on redecorating the room, there was lots of evidence of a slap-dash finish all over the place. Had intended to eat in, but arrived to find a coach party enjoying Xmas Dinner (in the first week of November), complete with novelty hats, etc.... not far to walk to series of Italian restaurants. Excellent location for pleasant walk along the sea-front.
