Located on the city center's main street, Laugavegur, CenterHotel Skjaldbreid offers the very best of the city ritght at its doorstep. The hotel has 33 rooms, all equipped with private bathroom, hairdryer, telephone, mini-bar, high-speed internet connection, radio and satellite TV. Most of the rooms are non-smoking but smoking rooms are avialable on the 2nd floor. All rooms have a free high speed internet access for your laptop. If you don't bring a laptop with you, you can still access the internet for free from a computer in the lobby.
Breakfast from our breakfast buffet is included in the room rate. Breakfast is served in our nice sitting room on the 3rd floor between 7 and 10 AM daily. There you can sit down any time of day, relax and enjoy a complimentary cup of coffee or tea, chat with fellow travellers or just enjoy the Reykjavik city scenery.
Adjacent to hotel Skjaldbreið is the popular bistro and bar Vegamot Bistro & Bar which offers a wide selection of meals that are priced very reasonable for the quality, portions, and presentation of the dishes. In summer, the outdoor patio is the perfect place to relax with the day’s paper while enjoying a pot of freshly roasted coffee. |

The Flybus from Keflavik Airport can take you to CenterHotel Skjaldbreid's doorstep if you just give them the hotel name, they provide a shuttle to the CenterHotel Skjaldbreid for the price of 1100 ISK per person one way.
Driving directions: From Keflavik airport take the first right at the roundabout and continue in the direction of Hafnarfjordur. Follow signs for Reykjavik along the coast road Saebraut. Follow Saebraut until the left-hand turn onto Snorrabraut, then turn left up Snorrabraut, and turn right where Laugavegur Street intersects with Snorrabraut. Follow Laugavegur and the hotel is on the left. |
| Check-in Procedure: |
If guests check-in in the evening/night the front door might be locked but there's a doorbell that should then be rung and there is always someone to open the door since there's 24 hours reception. |
| Car parking: |
A free parking lot is to be found in a couple of minutes walking distance from CenterHotel Skjaldbreid by a street called Skulagata (ask in the reception for more details).
There are also a lot of parking spaces and parking garages all around the hotel. There one has to pay parking fees from 10-18 on week days and 10-13 on Saturdays, there are no parking fees on Sundays though. |
