Customer service as very good. Breakfast had a good selection. Shower and bathroom was extremely small. Nice touch with offering a complimentary beverage.
The Tennyson is right in the centre of town which was a bonus. The rooms were clean and tidy even though older styled. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. All in all a pleasant stay

I enjoyed my overnight stay at the Tennyson. Very central, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable room. Parking a bit tight.
A hotel with character. Very nice owners. Great bed and a window that can open. All positive. Being an old hotel does have its downside but the price makes up for that.
I was prepared for the worst given the price but it was warm, friendly, comfy bed, quiet and breakfast thrown in. Will definitley stay again.
We had a great time staying at the Tennyson. The staff were all unfailingly helpful, and we were very comfortable and felt weel catered for.
Excellent friendly service, will stay again.
Handy location, walking distance to shopping. Basic but clean and comfortable rooms. Some parking. Good continental breakfast include in price.
Enjoyed our stay there - too bad about the weather! Great location in the centre of town.
Did the job for our weekend stay but found the facilities/decor a bit tired looking. Reception staff very helpful but cleaning staff barged into room without knocking before we had left the room at end of stay.
The decor of this hotel is very dated, however we received friendly service and it was in a central location in the hub of Napier.
We only stayed one night, but it was a very hot day and evening. We were in a standard room with no air con. We found the room very noiisy because we had to have the window open due to the heat. Otherwise it was very close to the shopping arcade and only a 20 min walk to McLean Park for the cricket or rugby. The room was adequate for what we wanted for 1 night.
First of all the location of this hotel is excellent-right in the middle of town and surprisingly quiet-We were not bothered by too much traffic noise at all .The continental breakfast was served in the dining room and was good. When we arrived in our room we noticed the desk top had not been cleaned very well and the freezer in the bar fridge was totally iced up so were unable to get the ice tray out without defrosting it-When I told reception about this I was told that it was a surprise that there was even an ice tray in the fridge as they had all been removed to discourage people from using the icebox! I was was surprised at this attitude and in the middle of summer I am sure I am not the only guest who appreciates a nice cool drink with ice in my hotel room at the end of a long journey or a hot day of sight seeing-However I asked for and was given a bowl of ice from the kitchen. The staff at this hotel are friendly and the beds comfortable.I would probably stay there again.
Older hotel but very handy to CBD. Well kept considering age
Hosts went out of there way to help in any way they could.
Very friendly and helpful staff, great value for money, very central location.
