Newly built and opened December 2008, Chalets @ Terraced Gardens are three self-contained chalets in a garden setting, high on the hill with panoramic views of the mountains and the Riwaka Valley and Tasman Bay. **NEW HEATPUMP/AIRCONDITIONERS EVERY CHALET**Each chalet contains: a Queen-sized bed with electric blanket, ensuite, fridge, kitchenette with microwave, electric frying pan, tea and coffee making facilities and toaster, Digital, Freeview, 32 inch LCD TV for perfect reception, double sofa bed which could accommodate two extra persons or suit twin occupancy, table and chairs, ceiling fan. All linen, crockery and utensils and essentials supplied. An adjacent BBQ area with two gas BBQ''s and large BBQ table is for the use of all guests. One chalet has a ramp for access and facilities suitable for disabled use.

Although quiet and peaceful Terraced Gardens is central to many of the attractions that make this area a favourite for visitors. The Riwaka hotel is only 1.5 km away for meals or 8 km to Kaiteriteri Beach for restaurants, cafe''s and takeaway. This beach is also one of the most popular in the South Island for its safe, sheltered swimming, golden sand and as the start of a sea kayaking or aqua taxi trip along the coast of the Abel Tasman National Park which can include some of the famous scenic walks. A day trip can easily encompass Golden Bay and Farewell Spit, or the wineries and galleries of Nelson, Mapua and Moutere. |

| Getting there: |
From Nelson take the coastal highway to Motueka. Proceed through Motueka and Riwaka along highway. You will see Riwaka Hotel on the left. Do not round the next bend, take the road directly ahead (Dehra Doon Rd.) and proceed 1.3 km till reaching our of SUNFLOWER "Terraced Gardens" sign. Turn in and take the driveway to the left up the hill. You will see the office on the left. If unattended please ring the bell.
From the West Coast, From Greymouth, take Highway 7 to Reefton, then highway 69 to Inangahua turn right here, you are back on highway 6 to Murchison. Continue on highway 6 through Buller till you see left turn to Tapawera and Motueka (91klms) Take this road through the Motueka Valley to Motueka above instructions.
From Christchurch head north along the highway till you see the turn off for Hamner Springs before Waipara, turn along highway 7 through Maruia Springs and Murchison. Take the above directions from Murchison. Approx 5 hours drive with stops. |
