Getting there:
The resort is situated at Ban Chan village, on the opposite side of the Mekong River across from center of the Luang Prabang heritage city. The resort can be reached in 18 minutes in which traveling by car 15 minutes from the airport and then by boat in 3 minutes. At the resort you can enjoy seeing traditional pottery making, the Only place in Luang Prabang producing famous pottery. The resort offers you a quiet and peaceful atmosphere with spectacular views, beautiful flowers and the greenery of nature. good place to just rest, but must take transport to get anywhere at all

The staff at the Chanthavinh resort were very nice but were not given the infrastructure to really make your stay perfect. No tissues, razor, toothbrush and minimal toilet paper in the room. The food is very average, and upon checking out we were told no credit card. This changed to photocopying our credit cards which left me uncomfortable and paying by card at another location we were taken to. The resort itself is very beautiful and the gardens and views over the river are splendid. Do not go in the rainy season as you must climb a whole heap of steps down to a boat then cross the Mekong to get there then climb a huge amount of steps to get up to the resort. The staff are very friendly and the place is simply gorgeous. The rooms are delightful. Only the lack of hospitalityu industry knowledge gets in the way of making this a lovely place to stay.
