Charms Hotel Shanghai

Check-in staff are not very friendly, made me feel like I wasn't welcome. Room size was ok, bathroom and shower were a bit old and didn't look too clean. One plus was the airconditioning was ice cold. Good location just off Nanjing road but watchout for touts who grab you as you leave the hotel offering 'massage'. Good value hotel if you want to stay near Nanjing road but I would prefer to stay at a better hotel elsewhere and take subway instead. Wouldn't stay here again

Great location - right next to Nanjing Road walking section, Giordano just across the road, no hesitation in staying there again

Hotel staff not very friendly or helpful. We had booked and paid for a Deluxe King City View - 1 King Bed. We were put into a room which had a Queen sized bed. Our friend travelling with us also had booked a Deluxe King City View (throught Hotel Club) and he did have a King sized bed. When we asked at reception they insisted that beds were the same size and would do nothing to help. The beds were of course different and we measured them to be sure. I always endeavour to book a King sized bed as my husband is quite tall. I tried to show them the Confirmation Voucher but they weren't interested. We also tried to get some info about expo, river cruises etc and no-one was interested in helping. I did not enjoy staying at this hotel at all and will never recommend it to anyone. I believe the Charms was one of your recommended hotels.

This hotel is in a fantastic location just behind Nanjing Road. The room was fine - we were offered the choice of non-smoking. Service was great - there were no people annoyingly opening and closing doors for us - but provided assistance when requested.

I am living in this hotel every time I am going to Shanghai. the location is very central near Nanjing Road with all facilities. Fitness room is small but I can find the minimum I need. Price is ok. Sometimes restaurant noisy during diner due to mainy events.

Near Nanjijng Road and Bund this hotel delivers always good services. Fitness center is small but minimum needed is available. After a full working day the massage center is convenient to relax also in room. I am booking this hotel every time i need to be in Shanghai

Staff who constantly gave us the wrong information or were unhelpful. We were locked out of our room on a number of occasions as they had stuffed up the electronic key access. The porters kept hanging around like bad smells waiting for us to tip all of them and were unhelpful is resolving an issue with a taxi driver over charging us. location however was good and close to nanging Rd and the Bund.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, Nanjing Road Pedestrian Street is just across the street. The metro station is only about 5 mins walk away. Would recommend this hotel for its good location.

Very good location with less than 3mn to Nanji pedestrian road by walking. When I have to be in Shanghai for my business, I like to loge in this hotel. It has a good quality/price rate. Also I am using the Fitness center small but everything you need is there.

I stayed here for 5 nights. Overall I like this hotel for the location. Its one block away from nanjing road. The MRT is about 10 minutes walk. The Shanghai museum about 15 minutes walk. The bund is about 20 minutes walk. Room was clean but bed very hard. I had to sleep on top of the covers this first night. It takes about 2 nights to get used too it. Free internet in the room. Breakfast was ok. Good hotel hotel for a budget traveler. Overall this is a 3 star hotel.

I have been for the second time in this hotel. Location is very good. Business center did help me to find translation office for chinese documents into english. Staff was very efficient and helpfull. Again I will go there next time I visit Shanghai.

The beds are impossibly hard and uncomfortable to a western persons profile. We asked for additional duvets to sleep on, which offered a slight improvement. For this reason I unfortunately cannot recomment the hotel.

Gymnasium is relatively small, but convenient. Also you don't need to go outside to get massages. Location is central famous shopping center. I will return in this hotel next time I have to stay in Shanghai

Everything in overall is good except : -The bed is not so comfortable, it's not on the same level. it has the slope right the middle of the bed. - Breakfast Restaurant doesn't have enough of space for all the guests .

It's a 3 star hotel with nice rooms, good location and they serve delicious buffet breakfast. The subway is a 10 minutes walk, and the subway line 2 will bring you to the Maglev station. The Maglev train is the only train that goes directly to the airport in just 20 minutes.
