Room was good, we booked last minute, when school hol time is difficult to get. 4 of us enjoyed the stay in family room, paid for an extra child and extra $10 ea 4 buffet breakfast (cereal, toast, fruit yoghurt,) inclusive $205night. Parts of the hotel still need to be renovated as showing it's age. We used the car to get around conveniently and would skip the breakfast next time to get better family value for money. Overall pleasant, we stayed extra night to see the city CBD and beaches. Would return again at last minute when closer areas are booked out.

A clean well looked after property. Although a little out of the way, it is a nice location, very quiet. Would stay there again.

Checkers is an older holtel complex but quite comfortable and is undergoing renovations. The reception office was hard to find and the shower screen was off the bottom track.
