Chic & Basic Gothic Apartments Barcelona

A very cosy, well-equipped and central apartment with free internet access. We were there in the winter time but I could imagine that it would get very hot and stuffy in the summer - without air conditioning. There is a small balcony with a very poor view overlooking other apartments - but it's the only way you can see outside if you want some 'fresh air' and to see what the weather is like. It was very quiet considering its central location, although you can hear when the neighbours come and go in the other apartments.

this apartment was a reasonably sized aprtment but the bathroom was filthy with mould on walls and corners there was no iron or ironing board the tv was not working on complaining we got the iron & tv fixed but i would not stay there again.

Excellent location, shops very close and la rambla only few steps away, also grocery store on the other side of the street. Air conditioning was awesome and the place was suprisingly silent. the only thing bothering our sleep was a fly in the room ;) the hotel staff was very kind and helpfull. Only negative thing was the stairs as our apartment was on the 3rd floor. But if athletic enough even this won't be a problem and if to be fair only hard time with the stairs was to carry the luggage in and out. so all and all a very nice place to stay close to everything you need! :)

Fantastic location (very important in Barcelona) with all the amenities required. Well priced, safe and secure, we felt really at home. Would recommend.

Basic apartment with excellent location. Worth its price.

If you are sick of eating hotel food & want to do your own thing then this is the place for you! We loved our stay at the Chic & Basic. The apartments are self contained so you can cook your own meals we were grateful for this as we had been travelling a few weeks. The apartments do not have a lift and the steps are steep so be prepared for that. Location was great with tour buses and airport buses within walking distance (no more than 5 minutes). Staff, very friendly. One thing to be aware of though - call 20 minutes prior to arrival at the apartments to give the staff enough time to get there to hand over your keys. This was overlooked on our part and we had to wait for the staff to arrive but it was not a problem! I would stay there again for sure.

Good apartments that you will use to be in the heart of the City.

It would be worth spending a few extra dollars and stay at a little better place. No lifts so if you are staying on the 3rd floor you have approx 80 stairs to climb, with luggage

Excellent location, easy to find, easy access to Barri Gotic, La Rambla and Placa Catalunya. Facilities good, including a washing machine. Only problem was shower stall was very small, hard to take a shower! However I would definitely stay in this facility again! Managers also very friendly.

Very helpful staff there. Room was not ready when we arrived, but we could at least leave our bags and return a few hours later.

the apartment was clean and comfortable. the location was fantastic,easy access to everything! planning on staying there again. recommend it to everyone!

Compartment on 5 floor and no elevator. Heavy with the lugage. Good service - valuable pricing.

I will recomend this place to all my friends who wants to travel to Barcelona. We got a very nice apartment and a great service from a staffmember when our flight was canselled. The location is very good.

good, basic apartment in a great spot. checking in took over an hour but otherwise no complaints

We wasted quite a bit of our first day due to Receptionist being delayed elsewhere and not being able to get in to our apartment. Noise level at front of apartment block was dreadful and fortunately got another apartment at the back of the building. Cleanliness could be better but an excellent location.

The location of our apartment was excellent being just a few minutes from Placa Cataluna. It would have been useful to have had a kettle and hairdrier provided.

Lovely little place especially for our budget! Great location really near to everything and had everything you need though could have done with a hair dryer :-P. would def recomend tho!

A perfect place to stay right in the centre of the action in BCN. No dought it will be an option to repeat next to we come to this amazing city.

It was a bit difficult to get service since this is a building only with apartments and no reception. Arrival and departure had some problems. But the extremely central location made it worth it.
