My daughter and I LOVED this hotel. The staff was unbelieveably friendly and accommodating. They made us feel very special. The room was exceptionally clean, extremely comfortable beds with down comforters and a small kitchen to heat up your leftovers. We would stay at Citadines in Trafalger Square next time for sure!
Holding our breath on the tube from Heathrow only added to our anticipation of the Citadines and what we would find there. Once we arrived at our Northumberland stay, my wife and I were very pleased at the accomodations. We quietly but harmlessly snickered about our receptionist, who tried his best to understand two jet-lagged Americans. After reading several Citadine reviews before we left the US, we welcomed the neatness, cleanliness and friendliness of the Citadine facility and staff. Would we stay in London at the Trafalgar Citadines again?? Most assuredly so! Our travel to London was more intimate due to the proximity to the Thames, Westminister and Trafalgar Square. Thank you, Citadines!
the location couldn't be any better! when you get off the embankment metro(~100m away) to get to the hotel, there is a 24hr.A&P along with coffee/food & shops there. if you leave the hotel, cross the street & go right (towards traf. square), stay on the road as it bends left & there is a 24hr. Tesco there on your left(~200m?). The laundry was extremely convenient in the basement: 5 pounds wash & 4 for dryer.
A perfect location for central London at an affordable price and a very friendly hotel. There was work going on while I was there (drilling etc) but I understood this to be renovations to do with new ownership. I was very happy with the state of the room (apartment) even though these will be re-done soon. Worth noting however is the fold-out sofa bed -not uncomfortable, just unusual. Otherwise free internet, tea and coffee in the lobby is nice, and the whole hotel seems both friendly and well-run. Will certainly stay again.
Very good location, close to Trafalgar. Relatively quiet taking the location into consideration, was ok with a bed sofa since the room was large and otherwise ok. Equipped with a small kichen that made it possible to make your own breakfast. Nice and friendly people, our room was not cleaned for three days though. Beeing so close to the all the important central atractions makes it our likely choise for the next visit.
Unbeatable position just off Trafalgar Square. Great to have a kitchenette with microwave. Decor a bit tired but currently being renovated. Would definitely stay there again.
Large room, comfortable (hard) and wide pull-out bed, facilities were excellent in the kitchen (we needed a tea pot and a saucepan, that would have been good) and the staff were prompt in bringing us extra pillows and blankets. Free wi-fi in the foyer, cable internet connection available in the rooms (I don't know if is free or not as I didn't use it), excellent location.
We have stayed here several timers - it is a perfect location. The staff are excellent. However the bed rooms/kitchens are very shabby and very much in need of renovation. We would not be inclined to recommend it to anyone, unfortunately, becaue of this. The entrance area & dining room are in very good condition.
these apartments where very well situated for Covent Garden,Trafalga Square, and all of the West end. would definitely stay here again.
Wonderful location close to Trafalgar Square and The embankment tube station and in walking distance of many attractions. Our studio was quite adequate for our needs and the bed comfortable. We were surprised with how quiet our room was. Recommend highly.
Good apartment hotel with a large room with good kitchen. Helpfull staff Would prefer and there is adequate room for a full bed rather than a pull-out divan which did not provide a flat surface. Excellent location. Will stay again
This must be one of the great 'finds' for hotels in central London - reasonably priced and the location just can't be beaten. Our apartment was large, the bed, comfortable and, considering its location, the room was very quiet. The staff seemed eager to please, but some had a pretty basic understanding of English (which is strange for an English hotel) and didn't really understand our basic requests (such as: can we park our hire car here just long enough to load our luggage on departure? The answer was "Sir, parking rates are twenty-five pounds per day.") The cost of breakfast was eleven pounds for a Continental breakfast, while quite nearby there were any number of places that were selling excellent full English breakfasts for ten pounds - FOR TWO! But with those very small provisos, the hotel was just terrific, and walking out each morning in the VERY CENTRE of London was worth every single cent and more. I would go back to this hotel tomorrow and quite happily stay for a year!
Excellent location convenient for transport and most major attractions.
fine
I stayed here in 2004...it was alright then. Now it just seems shabby.
We were shown to a room which was very hot and stuffy because the window could not be opened - the handle on the window was broken. However, the desk staff quickly allocated us to another room, but the windows of this room were locked and could not be opened! However we decided to stay in that room as the vents allowed a little trickle of cool air in, which meant there was at least some fresh air. Is locking the windows company policy? what if there were a fire and people had to be resued from the windows?
Perfectly located to many of the sites in London and also the underground and train. Very helpful staff and free use of internet
My second stay, having been very satisfied on first visit and on floor 7. This time on floor 3 -ok when inside room but outside appearance poor with landing carpets badly worn showing marks that looked like paint dropped. Did mention to reception.
Excellent location, minutes from Charing Cross and Embankment Tube, and all that Trafalgar Square and the Strand have to offer (shops, bars, galleries). Nice big room with big bathroom and everything you could possibly need. Very happy indeed. Have stayed twice, will do so again.
Rooms looked a bit tatty after the plush lobby area. Fantastic location particularly for South Bank and Waterloo station. Initial problem with paying the discount rate for our appartment due to the hotel over-booking, was swiftly dealt with.
