Citigate Central Sydney

Staff were nice - hotel was quite OK but to have absolutley no hot water at 8.30 in the morning is unforgivable

This is an excellent hotel to stay at for business and pleasure. The staff are so frIendly nothing is to much trouble. I am sure I got a free upgrade the room was large and modern. I will continue to stay there now when I am in Sydney. So close to every event and tourist spots. Highly recommended.

A great location a couple of minutes walk from the central railway station, so ideal if you need to be in the CBD. The room was large and spacious. Luggage storage is available on the day of check-in and check-out. The restaurant was okay too. I think they were short-staffed one morning, as the breakfast buffet wasn't re-stocked fast enough whereas it wasn't a problem any other day. The only thing which is a bit disappointing is the credit card surcharge whan paying for incidentals charged to your room account, as it's the only sensible option for a foreigner when the bill could be several hundred dollars if you have taken breakfast and dinner for a few days.

I always stay at Citigate Sydney. I find it convenient and central to all my needs, and I don't have to worry about parking with the 24 hour secured parking lot attached to the hotel. The staff are more than helpful, friendly and courteous and nothing is a bother. Only fault I can think of is there could be more sugar for coffee, but I am sure that if I were to run out, all I would have to do is phone down to reception and it would be provided. The meals at the restaurant are also exceptional.

Nice room with all facilities. Bathroom was clean but looking very 80's with the grey tiles and the repainted sink and bath. Comfortable bed and very clean. Great location for activities south of the city.

I always stay at the Citigate Central Sydney. I find it convenient to all facilities I need in Sydney. I also find the staff are polite go out of their way to assist whenever needed. The facilities at the hotel also meet my needs, and the prices are very reasonable.

I've booked for the king room with Cityview. Hotel comes with free gym and pool entry. Room is very spacious. Only thing is, make sure to bring your own toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving cream, shaver and moisturiser as they don't provide those items. Other than those, toiletries, towels, shampoo, conditioner and soap are all there.

Excellent location - close to Chinatown, Central railway station. Friendly & helpful staff who kept their cool even when busloads of guests were arriving, attractive room with quality bedding & the bathroom had a bath (rare). Two problems - not enough lifts for size of hotel, the large number of rooms & the rapid turnover of guests, so one often had to wait some time. Also the 'swimming pool', whilst well-located outdoors on the 8th floor, is only abt 5 metres long (enough for a dip but not a swim).

great room, although I dislike the shower within the bath - but nice staff, interesting area near Chinatown and Central station - enjoyable stay!

Facilities unfortunately starting to "show its age", in particular the bath area with cracked tiles, the carpet showing several large stains, the ranch slider to the small balcony very hard to close/lock (handle and mechanism loose), and limited tv reception (sky). This is our 7th stay at these premises, (1st with a balcony which we were looking forward to), but were dissapointed with "outlook".....all we saw was construction work in all directions from the rear of the hotel?) Room service however was excellent, as usual.

The rooms were not as nice as I expected but it was still very comfortable. The staff were very nice and helpful and accommodated to our requirements. The room was left fairly clean. It was very close to the convention center (approx 10 min walk) which is what we were after but not so close to the city center however the free CBD bus which was a 10 min walk took us into the city (very easy to catch) I would not pay full price to stay at this hotel but definitely if you find a good deal it is worth it. There was no residue smell of cigarettes which was a really nice change. Overall we enjoyed our stay and if we needed to go to the convention center again we would stay at the Citigate.

Bathroom a tad dated, but otherwise modern, and clean. Location to Chinatown was excellent. Good value for money.

The staff are very friendly and willing to assist. Certainly provides a sense of a safe property who look after their patrons.

There was no mention of a cost for parking on the website so I was dissapointed at the extra charge.

We really enjoyed our four day stay. only suggestion would be for the hotel to provide North American electricity adaptors with a deposit charge like most hotels. It would be very helpful to guests.

The check-out time at 1100hrs is a bit too early for me to take the 1500hrs back to Singapore. Only 30 mins extension was allowed by the hotel.

Great location near Chinatown and very quiet. Large comfortable rooms.

Citigate topped off our city break away. Twin queen room for 2 adults 3 children had us on the top floor, great views and huge room. Staff were friendly and helpful, & prompt with requests. Will stay again !
