very clean rooms but they are the smallest i have ever stayed in. We only stayed 1 night so not a problem but i wouldn't want to stay for any longer. Location is really good, just off Queen Street, within walking distance of most things in "town". This is a no smoking hotel with no balconies & a window that is chained closed so if you want a cigarette you have to go down to the street.
Would definitely stay here again, the location was fantastic, clean but small rooms which didn't worry us, we were only there to sleep. Because we were there for the rugby world cup the price reflected this, but we expected that. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful.

My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the City Central Hotel. Its location in the heart of Auckland's CBD meant we were close to everything. From our arrival to our departure, the staff and facilities exceeded our expectations. We were pleasantly surprised at the economy rates for our double room, despite the wholesale price hikes generated by the Rugby World Cup. Our room was serviced daily and kept in an immaculate condition. The restaurant and bar, internet kiosk and laundry services were also impressive. The reception staff were especially helpful with everything from advice on inner-city parking options, to changing the batteries in our TV remote. Needless to say, we left feeling pampered and refreshed. Which is why we highly recommend the City Central Hotel Auckland to anyone planning on visiting or staying in the city of sails.

This Hotel is in a fantastic location, right in the centre of the city. The staff were very helpful and friendly. the room unfortunately did not match. It was so small we had to put our case on the bed to open and no room for a fridge. It was next to a very old noisy lift and on the street side of the building. NO, no ,no sleep until about 4.20 in the morning then the rubbish truck woke us at 5.45 and the morning traffic started. Suggested to the morning manager that double glazing might help with noise. He wasn't interested, said he lived in another hotel down the street. If they have better sited rooms and larger rooms would stay again.
Room was small,cheap,& clean.The bed ,while not great,was acceptable.The staff were friendly.Good mid-town location.
Hotel is indeed very central for those wanting to be in the heart of the city - noisy because of this, though!! Friendly, courteous staff and clean facilities. Our Double Room was very small but good for the price and we only needed to use it for sleeping anyway... Lovely breakfast in morning - good value for money. We would stay again!
Excellent location - very clean if small rooms
It's a nice place to stay in Auckland. I can recommend it to anyone who wishes to have a simple, yet clean & convenient stay in the city. The staff was super friendly. I haven't missed anything in the room. Lovely.
Apart from small rooms, couldn't fault it, reasonably quiet for being in centre of city, tidy, clean, fresh room, bathroom could do with update (please include hooks, shelf, or rail for clothing, if you do update it) Great value

This is not a 5 star hotel, and should not be rated as such. The pricing is incredibly good and we stayed here because our usual hotel was full, the location was fantastic, very central and it was about a third of the price to what we normally pay. The rooms however are very small but if you just want a bed for the night in a central location that is clean and has ample facilities then this is the place for you.
Checked in at about 9.30pm. Lady on Front desk was very friendly and very helpful. Will use facility again. Check out was equally friendly and fast.

Very central to town and transport, clean, staff very friendly. Would have liked curtains as apposed to blinds, room on street side very bright otherwise enjoyed our two night stay.

Some basic ammenities were lacking otherwise it was everything I wanted in a hotel in the centre of the city for the price that I wanted to pay.
Was sufficient for an overnight stay but a bit disappointed at the lack of available cutlery etc. No glasses to drink out of, only tiny tea cups but I guess considering the price I couldn't expect too much. Room rather small, certainly wouldn't want to stay there for longer than a night but very clean and tidy. Staff very helpful and friendly.
Me and my partner chose this hotel to celebrate our 6months anniversary because of location and it was cheaper then the others. Really enjoyed our stay because it was close to everything and staff are very friendly, helpful and polite. Would stay at this hotel again. Only downfall for this hotel is that you use the bathroom sink for drinking water, but I guess u get what you pay for.
