City East Motel Melbourne

Very close to the CBD with many very good pub/bistro's in the area. Parking was a bonus with overground rail within reasonable walking distance. No Lift but is only on 2 levels so not that big a problem. Has a fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle for basic cooking. It's not the Marriott but it did the job and was cheap. Would stay again as parking closer to town is prohibitive and expensive.

Excellent place to stay - so close to the city and heaps of restaurants. Yet being in a side street made you feel like you were far away. Enjoyed our stay... just one little thing... noise carried from the corridors into the rooms. Overall, relaxing two days away - will definitely be booking here again soon!

Excellent, very clean, basic room with everything I needed and serviced faultlessly. Has the potential to be a bit noisy on the wrong night but, after my three nights, I'd be happy to return for the price.

This place was a joy to stay in. The only draw back for us is the 2 sets of stairs to get to the reception and rooms. However, having had a very negative experience at Powlett Apartments, City Edge was a breath of fresh air. It was clean, serviced daily, breakfast included in price, underneath parking included, and mostly, the staff could not have been more lovely. We will stay there again with pleasure.

Good value for price, clean, comfortable motel accommodation. Easy access to train, tram and bus transport if required.

Room was clean, location close to train station and a pub that served food. Not exactly pretty but good for a cheap, practical option.

really easy to find & so close to trains & trams..therefore city centre. Room is very spacious & clean & fresh looking. All facilities good. Love centre access atrium & rooms around a balcony! Pub on corner is great for meals - with open fire. And really good cafes along Victoria street if you like vietnamese food!Just perfect for a quick visit to the city.

From the outside, the motel looks a tad run down, sort of like a cheap old building. However, on the inside, the motel is not the least bit rundown, and has a relaxing ambience, mostly due to the glasses on the roof that allow natural sunlight to filter in. The room was okay, but was surprised to learn that the continental breakfast was in fact, a few slices of toast and 6 or so cartons of milk/juice as we were expecting eggs, bacon, and the lot. The fridge was kept in the washroom, much to my astonishment. Overall, the room was quite comfortable. However, you would probably need to rent a car to get around the city better. The pricing of the motel is reasonable too, compared with hotel/motel rates in melbourne. Would definitely consider staying here again the next time round.

excellant facility except for saturday nights when latenight revellers at the hotel next door are too rowdy. a teapot would be a nice addition and a bowl and spoon for the breakfast cerial , instead of a cup

Hotel a little noisy with the comings and goings of other guests but a clean and well situated motel. Dreadful english grammar on signs in guests rooms.

Be warned, this venue backs onto a pub with very noisy DJ Fri. Sat and Sunday nights. The walls shake. Not recommended if you like to sleep before 1am.

The hotel was very noisy- the Atrium effect potentiated the noise and the room was very stuffy we had to use the airconditioner which didnt work very well to get some ventilation. They also didnt provide fresh towels- the ones used were obviously old and with the stuffy room they needed changing daily. Easy to access the city from and helpful staff.

Good for the price, but very noisy. Could hear the people in the above room when they walked. The walls must be very thin

Ideal for what I was looking for. Close to the CBD, good price, close to a great Asian dining hub (Victoria Street), friendly and helpful staff and nicely maintained.

A really very nice motel with friendly and helpful staff. Rooms are very tasteful decorated. You could feel very well at home. Only one awful thing: no fresh air possible

Great place to stay, good location, 24hr staff are a bit noisy but only disturb you if you are roomed next to them. SPA rooms are great. Eating is a bit dicey well depending on your persuaision, nice food at the pub next door, however I think it is a gay bar, we were the odd ones out anyway. Good food though

Cheap,clean accommodation , car parking on ground floor. Walk up to two floors of rooms. (No Lift) Quiet at night, handy to tram and train. I'd stay again.

Excellent location for football, Short walk to train and tram. Easy to find.

Quite a nice little place for the budget conscious traveller. Clean and comfortable. Easy walk to Victoria St restaurants (mainly Vietnamese style) and trams into city. Very quiet at night. Pleasant staff.
