After booking in our first room the toilet didn't work. Our second room the shower rose faulty like standing under a hose. Rooms were clean but in need of repair and updating. The staff were good and breakfast was sufficient. This is what I would class as a backpackers hotel.
Well, one should keep in mind that Amsterdam is not so cheap - in Berlin one would`ve get a room twice as good for the same price. The breakfast was good and it was clean, but our room (number 10) had one window in the hotel hall (and the other guests were a bit noisy) and another window in the roof (no curtain and very loud when it rained, some water even managed to get in the room). The staff was friendly and the hotel is near the station.

The location was excellent. When I was there in March 2005, they were refurbishing the hotel, so in time, each room will probably also be refurbished too. There was no inconvenience.
Staff were friendly, place was clean, very close to the central station andf the hub of nitelife.Good cheap hotel
