Friendly staff, good location, acceptable rate. One of the best for the price range with respect to London standards. I was not disappointed. I will consider this hotel again for my next London trip.
Basic level of service but a very good deal providing all the necessities. Location is convenient for an overnighter, just a few minutes walk from an underground station but not immediately close to anything much of interest. Immediate locality is good for Bangla Deshi restaurants, supermarket and banks, but greater variety of shopping available over near Liverpool Street station, which isn't so far away. Excellent value for the price
Located in the premier curry-house street in London. Close to tube station and comfortable with friendly staff.
It was a beautiful room in a great location and a really good price.
Very simple, yet clean and effective hotel. given London price standards it's supposedly reasonably price. anywhere else in the world you would expect to pay half. "close to liverpool street station" is relative. it's a healthy 15-20min walk to the stansted express. would I stay again? definitely, but once an alternative crops up I will be tempted to change...
This hotel is located in East London 15 min walk from the tower and next door to the east aldgate tube station, so is well located. compared to most london hotels this place is excellent, it is freshly painted and whilst some of the decor is a little aged overall the appearance is very good and clean. Service is very good with a great restaurant and bar in the hotel. Definitely recommend.
For Indian it is very good property as all Indu=ian Resturants are just stones throw away. Secondly it is very near to Underground Metro station just 50 mtrs away from Aldgate East which is very big Thirdly the rates are reasonable
A good clean cheap for london hotel in a convienent location. I would stay again.
Spacious rooms. Value for money. 2 min. to tube. Better than a B&B in the Earls Court/Gloustersteet area and same distance to Piccadilly/Oxford Street.
When I arrived at the hotel I thought it was a 'dive' and was concerned about the type of person that would stay there and what the room would be like. However, I was pleasantly surprised. The furniture, though old, was good enough and the room was very clean, bright and airy. There were no issues such as noise with other guests. The room was warm, and I had control of the temperature.
Very noisy late at night both inside the hotel and outside.
Great hotel if you are in a group looking to party in the city area. Single beds are a little dodgy as I have got a bad back. Counter staff obliging.Bar downstairs convenient.Would stay again
The Hotel was clean and comfortable. The room was a good size and well equipped. I was on the first floor, on a Friday night, which was quite noisy from the club below. Probably better to be on a higher level.
Normal day rates for this hotel are quite high (150GBP) however we obtained last minute rates through this site and got a very good deal. Hotel is in center of city, very close to the Tower of London and Thames River. Easy to find, a few minutes from East Aldgate Station.
Friendly staff, well located, facilities more than adequate. Only let down was general worn look of room furniture, and shower room/bathrooms suffering from mould and peeling ceiling paint.
Excellent location for tube and transport links and near to fantastic Huguenot buildings in Fournier street and church in Spitalfields. Also within yards of Brick Lane and all the interesting restaurants in that area. I ended up in a flat/suite with room for party had I wished. I had a drink in the bar linked to the hotel in the evening and that was good but it is also used as an area to serve breakfast the next day and didn't feel particularly the right place to be eating bacon and eggs. Views from windows are not very salubrious but there are net curtains to help you avoid that so it is not too intrusive. Really good value for money!
Cleanm spartan- location and value for money are the big winners- Ibis on Commercial road is the big competitive threat to this hotel
The single room I got was very spacious and confortable. I was satisfied with it. The breakfast staff were very efficient and friendly. It is a good location because it is near Liverpool Street, the end station for the Stanstead Express. I will probably stay there again.
For the price, especially in City of London, this is excellent value. Rooms clean and adequate size.
We needed a hotel near to Aldgate East tube station. The City Hotel was 1 minute away, so was very convenient. Only 1 stop from Liverpool Street Station. Hotel very clean. Room was spacious and clean. Curtains very poor - hanging off rail in places. View of the "Gherkin" especially good at night. Adjacent Lanes bar good - breakfast served in here. Good continental breakfast and available alternative hot dishes available at low price for hotel residents. Would stay here again.
