I stayed in this hotel 3 years ago and was impressed enough to return. This time there were only 2 of us (last time 3) so the room was considerably smaller but still adequate and clean. Problem though with only having 1 glass each night and had to ask for the coffee cups and coffee each night. My main problem came on the morning I was leaving when I pulled the shower curtain back after my shower and it came off the wall! It is only spring-loaded so please be careful! I've got a huge bruise on my arm and knee. The front of house staff are very pleasant and helpful and I would certainly return again.
couldn't open the window in the room as the key was missing. i requested from reception, was told to come back in the morning and again was unsuccesful. A small blip for a lovely stay. highly recommended
Brilliant location, metro right across from the street with access throughout the city and a very short walk to Plaza Cataluna and the nightlife!! Room was basic but clean, of a reasonable size, very nicely done up! Only problem (a tiny problem) would be the lack of plugs in the bathroom for the bath or sink. would defintly recommend this hotel!
Four of us visited this hotel for a long weekend away and had a really lovely stay. The location is perfect with just a few minutes to walk to las rambles and shops and restaurants nearby. Staff were very helpful with any queries we had. We were advised to go on the open top bus tour to see the city, it cost 20 euros and was well worth it. The breakfast was very nice but the breakfast room is a little dark and small but clean. (Word of warning - the shops are shut on a Sunday!)
This is our second visit to this hotel it is a great locaton for the Ramblas and the Docks if going on a cruise or coming off and staying in Barcelona. Breakfast is self service with everything nice and fesh and staff cleaning up after you to free up tables for other guests. Thoroughly recommend this hotel.
Some small details like a flooding shower, non stop toilet flush, more items in the mini-bar, simple things in reality. There is one elevator only for instance (I see there is no more space for a second one though). The hotel is very well located at 200mts from Plaza Catalunya and La Rambla but as all hotels now in Barcelona it's expensive and the room is not so big, there are bigger rooms of course and this one (207) wasn't so bad but if you have lots of luggage you fell a little bit compressed. About the service: waiting staff are incredible hard working people, very friendly and proactive, receptionists could improve, the two girls are wonderful people, friendly and understanding who make all efforts to help guests but the guys in the afternoon shift needs a boost of moral. The hotel is acceptable and there is room for improvement but is not a bad hotel to stay in. The area is noisy so if you are sensitive to this ask for a room in the 4th floor or bring good ear plugs.
Very small room. It was hardly bigger than the double bed. Breakfast in the basement was a slightly depressing experience.
The breakfast was wonderful! Great selection and a variety of choices.
- Good place centre of barcelona and 400m from Rambla and airport transportation bus (catalunya) - Metro station Universitet only 25m away - poor breakfast at hotel, but enough good to feet. - shops, restaurants near hotel (check expecially small alleys) - Huge department store on catalunya
We loved this hotel very much. When we got off from the Aerobus at Universtat Stop, we saw the hotel just in front of us, less than 3 minutes walk. Excellent location, close to La Ramblas. Staff are helpful. Would stay again!!
Me and my wife spent 4 nights at this hotel and were gladly surprised, because: Location-great, Pricing-great, room(superior corner room)-great, breakfast-good, service-good! What more can you ask from a 2star hotel? I`d say its a 3star hotel!
Excellent location and friendly and helpful staff. My room was very small, but considering the price I paid and the location of the hotel ( 1 minute from Universitat metro station and 5 minutes walk to Plaza Catalunya), I thought it was terrific value for money in a major city.
Fantastic location next to Plaza de Catalunya. Room were spacious. Breakfast was a bit simple but there are plenty of cafés around. Very recommendable.
The only problem was a/c is only availaible in the summer.on hot days in the winter the room got extreamly hot and by opening the windows there was a lot of trafic noise late at night and very early in the mornings
Well situated, clean small room, breakfast O.K. Bed Hard.
The hotel was great. Very clean and friendly staff. The only drawback was the room was very very very small and the TV did not work properly. (Not a huge thing when you're hardly in the room). On top of that, the double glazing wasn't very good as the traffic noise was heard all the time! But apart from these very small problems, a great hotel in a great location. Highly recommended!
Conveniently located, close to Ramblas and metro stations, great service, clean and spacious rooms, fairly reasonably priced. Would definitely stay again in the future!
The hotel description stated that there was a lounge and cocktail bar. This turned out to be a very small "coffee shop" type area. The double room we stayed in was adequate but quite small and, although a hairdryer was stated in the description, this was not installed until the night before our departure. I would definitely use this hotel again because of its excellent location but would book a corner room the next time.
Excellent hotel. Only criticism is the noisy elevator (which may be quieter once renovations have finished).
If you want a bed and nothing more...this is perfect. You pay for the location (2 minutes from centre eg Placa Catalunya/Ramblas) but little else. Rooms are basic (not even a pic on the wall), VERY small (even double rooms) but VERY clean and a great shower. I'd stay again but then I dont like paying for comforts!
