We were very happy with our stay at CityLife. We pulled up at the entrance and were immediately greeted by a very nice gentleman who parked our car for us and also by a lovely lady that whisked our luggage straight up to our room. The greeting at reception was equally friendly and professional and check-in was very quick. Our room was more than adequate, not large but fine for a one night stay and it was lovely to have a towel warmer in the bathroom and a good selection of toiletries. The bed was very comfortable and we slept very well. The location of the hotel is central also, with several coffee shops nearby and within walking distance of the harbour and the Sky Tower, restaurants & shopping. Check-out was easy and quick also. Would definitely stay at this hotel again if visiting Auckland.
Was pleasantly surprised and definitely very happy with our stay, the hotel was recommended by a friend who had stayed there with their grandchildren and they were very happy with their stay also. We didn't use room service or the Zest restaurant so can't really comment on them. It was great not to have to worry about parking as that was included in our package. The places we wanted to go to were within walking distance so we didn't need to use our car for two days. We highly recommend Citylife Auckland A Heritage Hotel if you want to stay in Auckland.

I stay regularly. City Life provides great service and excellent all round facilitities. I think it is value for money.
CityLife Auckland will certainly from now on be our hotel of choice. The staff were professional and friendly whether it be during the day or early in the morning and the hotel facilities exceeded our expectations. The standard room we booked was value for money and we found everything to our satisfaction. The service deskman was also very nice to give us a discount on our valet parking when I enquired the previous day. Overall, a 10/10 hotel experience for my husband and myself. We found no cons.
Found the location of the hotel to be exceptional for us as everything we wanted to get to was within a very easy walk. Staff were very pleasant and welcoming, price for the room was great value however in house food was too expensive such as $12.00 for a bowl of porrridge, fortunately there was a huge amount of places to eat at budget prices all closes by. I would certainly stay there again.
Another great stay. Only positive things to say as usual.
Had a fantastic night out on the town and this hotel was perfect!! Perfect location, Friendly staff, Good sized room for the price. Only thing i found quite irritating was on arrival we needed to put a $600 Bond on the room as we did not have a credit card to use. This was refunded back to the card at the end of the stay so it worked out fine but i think $600 is a bit steep for a cash bond. Had a great night and made great use of the pool Would definately stay again especially for a night out on the town
Fabulous hotel in an unbeatable location for convenience and shopping. Can't say enough.. friendly staff, quiet despite being in the center of town, nice breakfast selection, and salt water pool is lovely. Only gripe is the gym is not very well equipped. Some weights would be nice. Would stay again and recommend to anyone.
This time my stay was for three nights. I booked a standard room at a premium price (was the period of the U2 concerts in Auckland and the price reflected it!). On arrival I was upgraded to an Executive Suite, which was fantastic, but the suite assigned had an overpowering smell of stale smoke/chemical freshener. I dithered for a minute, wondering if it was worth complaining about (I'm not one for making a fuss) but the smell really was quite strong. It wasn't a new smoke smell (the hotel is smoke-free) but had obviously been a smoking room in the past. The net curtains reeked. If it had been one night I wouldn't have cared, but the thought of three nights was too much. Reception initially weren't too keen on moving me but I was reassigned to a Deluxe Suite (still much better than the standard room I booked!) which I was perfectly happy with, and I had another great stay in the city.
I just stayed the one night but it was very pleasant and I would happily recommend.
staff were extremely friendly and helpful. will definately stay again
Overall the hotel is lovely, but the food is disgusting and far too overpriced. A toasted sandwhich with NOTHING else cost $18 +$5 room charge!! Its ridiculous, and the food tastes awful!
very good stay got upgraded to a large room we stay there all the time
excellent, we were upgraded which was wonderful, will definitely stay again
All good aside from the internet which was so slow and chewed up my limit without me able to check emails. Only 1 dressing gown and there was 2 staying. Will stay again.
always a handy place to stay for if wanting to be in walking distance to CBD
Very hard to find the entrance for valet car parking.
Another wonderful stay at CityLife Auckland (my fifth and I have the complementary keyring to show for it). Although I wasn't able to get the $1 upgrade to a suite offered with my booking (blimmin rugby) my superior room (22nd floor, facing northeast) was lovely, with full height window views towards the harbour bridge and Rangitoto/Devonport and was clean, comfortable and quiet. I had a great weekend away shopping, seeing the ballet and sleeping in (super king bed - all to myself - bliss). Only slight complaint would be the air conditioning which no matter how much I adjusted the dial had one temperature - HOT! On the first night I had to open the ranchslider window to get some cooler and fresher air in. One the second night I simply turned the air conditioner off completely. All in all a great stay and will happlily return for visit number six sometime soon.
An excellent hotel which I would use again and sell to others.
A fine hotel with excellent facilities, right in the heart of the city but not too affected by noise. We enjoyed our stay.
