Classic Villa (The) Christchurch Guest Reviews

4.4 out of 5

Lovely gracious boutique hotel in a great location. There is only limited parking however (6 carparks, first in, first served). Unfortunately all parks were taken most of our 3 night stay and we had to park in the nearby parking area, but were towed due to a market on Sunday morning, and so nearly missed our plane.

Wonderful Hotel! Wonderful location! Best Continental Breakfast I have ever had. I would highly recommend this hotel!

I highly recommend staying at the Classic Villa - beautiful in every way. Comfortable beds - feather quilt & feather & wool pillows made for an excellent nights sleep. Underfloor heating in the bedroom & bathroom was fantastic - no dehydrating air-conditioning blowing. Beautiful kitchen & communal dining area - very stylish. Adjacent lounge/reading area with gas log fire, wide screen tv, leather couches & a piano. Almost better than home. Great service & great price - far better than any chain hotel.

Very nice place, the free broadband was my original reason to stay there while being on a business trip to ChCh as I needed to do a lot of online work at nights. But besides that, the whole concept of this awesome boutique hotel is convincing. Excellent brekkie, a very nice owner and stylish rooms!

This place is an absolute winner - we truly could not fault it. Location is particularly great - across from the Arts Centre and a minute's walk from the Museum and Botanical Gardens, two or three blocks wonderfully scenic walk to the Square. Now who is unmasked barefooted man who seems to be at your service 24/7. As for the "Continental" breakfast - I've owned a restaurant and worked in two large hotels and have never seen such a wonderful spread - certainly not what you would call Continental. The second morning we declined brekkie as we always have a romantic brunch in the Botanical Gardens - still not up to the Villa's standard! We will definitely stay again.

Delightful place to stay - centrally located, small, characterful, lovely quiet rooms (not huge, but nice), excellent facilities (particularly like the free wifi service), with thoughtful and friendly service. If you like places with charm, history and comfort, Classic Villa is highly recommended.

This hotel is ideally situated opposite the Arts Centre. Bedrooms are spacious with an elegant feel and very comfortable bed. Breakfast is basic and do-it-yourself style, seated on communal tables. This may put some people off, but entice other people to a social chat. The hosts are very friendly and accommodating. Definitely a hotel with a big personal touch.
