Getting there:By car The hotel is easily accessible by car. Coming from the highway, follow the signs to Firenze centro. From Piazza della Libertà, take via Cavour, where the hotel lies. By train From Santa Maria Novella railway station, walk, take a taxi, or take any bus in the Piazza San Marco direction. By airplane Florence airport is about 4 km from the hotel and easily reached by car, bus, or taxi.

Car parking:The Parterre, a short walk from the hotel, at 18 Euro per day. Garage San Orsola, with pick up and delivery service to and from the hotel, rates beginning at 23 Euro per day. The hotel is not responsible for any possible increase in garage tariffs.

Hotel was in a perfect location to get to the Duomo and surrounding sites. Staff was really nice and made our stay pretty special. Room was a little small but what rooms in Florence aren't? We would stay there again.
We travelled through Italy as mother and adult son, when my adult daughter decided to join us in Florence. I tried to change the booking for 2 people to 3 people the day before and it hadn't reached the Hotel. Anyway, they made every effort to accommodate the 3 of us at a very reasonable extra cost. This was very much appreciated. Our room (no 6) even had a small balkony overlooking a charming Florencian backyard. The internet was provided free, the breakfast was ample, the staff was very helpful with all our questions. The hotel is located 5 minutes from the centre and 10 min to the Uffizi. They have an arrangement with a carpark that picks up your car on arrival and deliveres the car back on departure, making it a carefree holiday. A tip on bike rental close by made it very easy for us to discover a much greater area of Florence then if we would have by foot.

One room had the shower over the toilet, however it had a lovely view of the roofs of other buildings in the area. We only stayed in this room one night and did not shower. The room we were moved to was much bigger and nicer, however my husband smelled the cooking from the restaurant next door. I happened to see a lovely large room with a patio. This was just off of the reception area.
The Columba is in a perfect location. It is near the market and within walking distance of everything in Florence. The staff is very friendly and helpful and all speak English. The first impression of the stairs and lift are not that nice but you have to go to the second floor to reach the hotel. The room was clean and very large. I did not see any of the other rooms. They have a very good Continental breakfast included with the room. I would stay there again.
