Colon Hotel Barcelona

The hotel was well located right in the centre opposite the Cathedral and close to all amenities. The staff were all very pleasant and curteous from beginning to end. If we were to add any negative comment it would be the disappointing standard of food in the hotel restaurant. which was over priced for the quality and presentation. However, the staff and service itself was very good. There are plenty of good eating places within easy walking distance. We would stay there again.

Very good hotel which I will recommend to friends. Warning when visiting Barcelona. On the final evening I was pushed to the ground & my sister in law had her handbag snatched. Not a nice experience at all. Leave everything in the hotel safe! I shall visit Barcelona again despite my experience.

Hotel is in perfect location across from the Catheral and access to La Rambla 5 minutes away. Beach is about a 15min walk. City Tour Bus and taxi rank are across the street. We travelled by Bus from the airport which is about a 20 minutes away to centre of Barcelona, hotel was about a 10 mins walk from there. Hotel is old style but very clean and staff are friendly. Didn't eat in the hotel but seen the lunch food being served and it looked great. Would recommend this hotel to anyone.

I am very satisfied with this hotel : super location , just opposit the cathedral and just by walk to the gothic quatier - all is perfect regarding to price, room and service - i will come back to this hotel for the next time for sure and that will be my strong suggestion to any of my friends who will visit Barcelone.

This hotel is in a wonderful location, within walking distance to everything. It is a beautiful hotel with an excellent breakfast. Very nice rooms.

Excellent location, very friendly and helpful staff , nice big rooms with air con. However the bar shut at midnight and they were unable to offer us anywhere to get changed and showered on our final day. We had an evening flight so spent all day in Barcelona then had to come back and get changed in toilets and hotel reception area. Not very good service.

An excellent hotel, recommended by friends who have been there several times. The cleanliness was exemplary, the staff friendly and helpful, and the location is perfect for strolling around the centre of Barcelona, and for transport beyond it. I would have preferred a more comfortable pillow, and our air-con resisted all attempts to make it work, but these problems did not put us off the Colon, and we would be happy to stay there again.

Hotel is very well located for Sightseeing, Shopping and local restaurants for dining out.

We stayed at hotel Colon 15th Nov 2007. it is a lovely classic hotel, very clean, great location, great and helpful staff, cant wait to go back!!

Higher pricing at Colon Hotel surely depends on an excellent location in Barcelona. Our room where we stayed is compactly designed and clean. Japanese travellers may be satisfied with Colon Hotel except prices. Breakfast has also very good quality, espacially bread, fruits and cakes.
