John and Christine welcome you to the Colonial On Tay, 335 Tay Street, Invercargill. We have 8 One Bedroom Units, 2 Two Bedroom units all with underfloor heating. Continental/Cooked breakfasts available delivered to Unit We pride ourselves on our cleanliness of the units and welcome any feedback from our guests. Sky TV is in all units and DVD players are available on request. Wireless Internet is available through Zenbu in all units. If you are Flying in we can arrange to meet you at the airport. We are self rated at 3-4 Star. There are lots of things to see and do while you stay with us in Invercargill. Take a trip down to Bluff to Stirling Point- End of State Highway One. View Stewart Island from the Bluff Hill Lookout, or catch the Ferry over and spend a day exploring. Bill Richardson's Truck Museum is worth a visit but needs to be booked prior to day of visit Also the Worlds Fastest Indian display at E Hayes & Son and at the Information Centre. Main Retail area, Splash Palace, Cycle Velodrome and Stadium Southland are all within walking distance from our Motel. Come stay with us and enjoy the friendly southern hospitality and all the attractions Southland has to offer.

Getting there:Situated on Tay Street. Second Motel through first set of Traffic Lights on the main highway from Dunedin. From Queenstown/Te Anau - Continue along North Road which runs into Dee Street to the Monument at Tay Street intersection. Turn left into Tay Street through town, past Burger King and we are approximately 1km from there.

A very pleasent 3 day stay. Management very helpful.Location not to far away from main shopping area.Weather could have been a little bit warmer but thats not the Colonial's fault.Yes I would stay there again.
Two bedroom unit was very nice. An older style property but in excellent condition. We enjoyed our stay.
Our One Bedroom Units are spacious with separate lounge, Underfloor heating. Queen Bed in Bedroom, single bed in lounge area. Fridge, Microwave, LCD TV, Sky. DVD available at Office at no extra charge. Queen size bed in bedroom and a single bed in lounge.
Our Two Bedroom Unit offers a bedding configuration of 1 Queen in 1st bedroom & 3 singles in 2nd room. Underfloor heating, a large living area & a seperate adjoining kitchen, making for a comfortable stay. Queen size bed and three single beds.
SLightly older motel but very tidy and clean, very freindly proprieter let us put our Harley in the garage good value and would stay there again-the lazy boy chair was a great bonus something you won't find in a modern place.
Nice quiet motel, not the most modern but extremely comfortable and clean. Will definately stay there again.
Welocmed though arrived late. Pleasant clean nothing over the top but a reliable clean well located place to hang the head for a night with TV in both rooms.
Under floor heating and the extra heater was much appreciated. Very helpful owners who went out of their way to assist us with our enquiries and requests.
Although the service was friendly, there was alot of road noise as the motel is on a busy road and also the walls were paper thin and I could easily hear the conversations of the people in the next rooms so I wouldn`t be staying at this motel again because of this.
More than happy to use this establishment again
