The Columba Hotel, originally built in 1881, is positioned in the heart of Inverness with enviable views over the River Ness and up to Inverness Castle. Getting there:Located in the heart of Inverness, you will be well positioned to discover the many things to do without having to travel to far from the Columba Hotel. The Cairngorm Mountains offer skiing in the winter months and the Black Isle Wildlife Park will amuse all the family and it is only 15 minutes away.

The name of the hotel on the building does not have the word Swallow, just Columba. Good stay there.
Should notify you that children cannot sit in lounge bar after 8 p.m. before you book with them
I was located in a room which was over the kitchen and the extractor fan ran until aprox 11.00pm and started up at 6.00am, this was extrememly noisy. I compained and was moved to another room immediately, this appears to be a common occurence, should the hotrl br using these rooms OR install double glazing?
No designated car parking was availiable - this was the one and only downside of this hotel
Very good location but a bit soulless.
The Columba has a lift, a pleasant change from other old hotels. The reception staff was very helpful with all kinds of information. There were no stairs into the hotel. Though only street parking was available, I always found a space near the hotel. Restaurant food was good; bar staff was nice. Our room had western exposure, so it was warm, with no air conditioning, but did cool late at night. I would recommend the Columba for its central location.

The hotel lacks a car park but there is more than adequate reasonably secure parking within 2 minutes walk. Staff are friendly and helpful.
