"The small hotel with the big possibilities" Columbus Hotell is a charming 3-star hotel in an attractive listed building dating from 1780, and with St Catherine´s Church as its nearest neighbour. Columbus Hotell has retained a flavour of its elegant past blended with the standards now expected in the best hotels. The hotel is centrally situated in Stockholm on Södermalm, one of Stockholms most beautiful and attractive areas. The brewer Lorenz Sifvert had this building erected in 1780 so he could site his brewery here. The brewery was set up on the ground floor of the building, and his workers were housed in the upper storey. Today, the Columbus Hotell offers wine tasting, which takes place in our attractive wine cellar in the basement, below our 18th-century vaults.

Left luggage room available - but down a flight of steep stairs, better than hauling up higher flight of stairs. Advice - travel light.

I stayed in a a nice room but with shared toilets and showers. It is OK for a short stay and the price is good for Stockholm. Very good Swedish breakfast included.
A very clean and comfortable hotel - I stayed on the hostel floor with shared bathroom. Courteous staff. Free internet access. Good breakfast and free coffee in the afternoon. Wonderful location in Södermalm, short walk to metro which takes you to Gamla Stan in two minutes and downtown in five. Ideal location for Stieg Larsson fans (Millennium series) as Liesbeth Salander and Mikael Blomkvist lived in the neighborhood. Should note on website that there is no elevator access - carrying a heavy bag to the third floor after a long night of traveling was not exactly what I was looking for.
Loverly place to stay, also while on a business trip. Free wireless, warm atmosphere in bar/lounge/reception area. Free overnight parking on the street. Great value for money.

WC and shower i corridor, but nice and new renovated room. No internet access up to the Annex where the low rate rooms are lokated. Very good breakfast and good service, really good value for the money!! I recemmend it warm!!
Toilet and shower in corridor but the room was big, nice and clean and the bed was very comfortable. Very good breakfast served in cofortable enviroment. Nice area with a lot of good restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Really unprofessional reception staff. Would really need a new supervisor that knows how to "smile" and take care of customers. It is sad to see how one person can bring the whole team down. Have stayed in the hotel twice now and have never had a smile or anything close to it. Last time I stayed I was "accused" of making my booking in the wrong way as I had booked with [your website]... Apart from the reception staff behaviour it is an excellent hotell and would be a 4* if they had minibars in the rooms.
What a really great hotel. Oozing character, great courtyard to breakfast in, perfect location on the edge of Sodermalm. My room was in what they call the annex: cheaper because there's a shared bathroom, but with its own sink, large and looking onto the courtyard. The best, and most expensive rooms. look out onto the Katarina church and its beautiful graveyard. Don't even think of staying anywhere else...
Lovely Hotel. Stayed in the Annex, so it was a bargain. Nice people and a great breakfast. You have to share a bathroom, but for the price you can't expect a 5 star!!
It was a little bit noisy because the building is very old (1780). But it's still a very charming place of History. Moreover, there's a park just behind so you can enjoy this see when you wake up! I will come back!
