Getting there:When approaching from Hobart & Airport (south) along Bathurst Street, turn right at Fredrick Street and drive to the T-intersection (George Street) and turn left. Drive down the hill to York Street (second set of lights) and turn right. The Balmoral is just up the hill on the right-hand side. When approaching from the north follow Wellington Street until you hit Fredrick Street & turn left then follow same directions as above.

We stayed in a premier city view room and very satisfied as it ticked all the boxes for us including bed,lounge chairs, lcd tv,etc. Continental breakfast included in rate was very enjoyable. Management very friendly. Will return when needing accommodation in the future.

We stayed at this hotel in Launceston and really enjoyed it. It has been recently refurbished and you can definitely see it. The beds are fantastic, and the owner (who staffs the front desk) was very welcoming and friendly. I would definitely and highly recommend this hotel.

this hotel proved to be the highlight in a two week tour covering melbourne, the yarra valley and the western half of tasmania including launceston and hobart. the proprietors attitude was outstanding and followed through to staff, services provided and at a very competitive price. it was indeed a pleasure to stay there.
