Como Hotel Como

Rated 4 star? more like an average 3 star and I'm not fussy. 15 mins walk from lake and 10 mins walk into town. Staff were pleasant and helpful. Looks very posh on the website but hotel a bit tired looking.

Friendly and supportive staff; hotel rooms in functional italian look and clean; everything operational (shower, air conditioning etc) except for the safe in the room; located 20 minutes walking distance from the lake and the center of Como. Parking garage 9 Euro extra, but worth it.

Rude concierge, grumpy porter, absent/distracted bar man: as customers we were made feel like we were a nuisance - just by being there. Booked a twin room, got a double. Asked for it to be changed, got muttering, grumbling sighs as response. Asked for a dring at the bar, no staff to be found. Receptionist phoned barman who couldn't get away again fast enough. Not impressed.

We stayed in low season and while the receptionists were very professional, we found the other staff (barman, bell-hop, porter etc)to be inattentive, unhelpful and unfriendly. However, the rooms are spacious and comfortable.

A nice, quiet hotel. The restaurant has an excellent menu. Too far from the train station to walk.

Quite good location. Rooms overpriced and quite basic and spartan for the money. Service quite good.

Very good restaurant

Maintenance staff should work on the lock for some of the rooms, as the doors almost "must" be slammed in order to close from outside the room. Cleaning staff shoudl be a bit more carefull in the morning not to slam doors (whithin reason of course). Overall the Hotel was nice, the staff curteous, services used very good, restaurant staff as well as Chef willing to accomodate special requests for items not on the menu, and although not "on" the Lake the Hotel is centrally located.

The Como Hotel offers nice big rooms. For tourists who want to make a small stop before travelling further in Italy it is the perfect place. Unfortunattely it is located at 20 minutes wlking distance from the lake, so you miss a splendid view.

We were made to feel very welcome by the hotel staff, they were all very friendly and helpful. We had a couple of meals in the roof terrace restaurant and the service and food were both excellent. If you don't mind a 10 - 15 minute walk to the lake I would definitely recommend this hotel.

We had a lovely stay but it is furhter from the lake than is stated. It takes a good 20 min to walk to the lake at reasonable pace.

The Como Hotel was about a 15 minute walk from the lakeside and so a bit out of the way at nighttime. Was very clean and quiet. Staff were very friendly. Lovely rooftop restaurant with food prepared in front of you. Nice pool for end of the day refreshing dip.

Price obtained via the website was around 30% less than other rates quoted by other intenet services. The reservation was exactly as stated, when I arrived to the hotel. The Como Hotel is very nice. Better than expected for a 4 stars Hotel. Moreover I highly recommend both The Como Hotel and this website.

Very spacious rooms more than adequate for 3 persons centrally located in Como. Friendly and helpful staff.

Friendliest staff during our entire stay in Italy! Wonderful, prompt and pleasant service.
