I spent 8 nights at the Hotel Compostela and had a great experience overall. The room was spacious, the bed very comfortable and the staff was very friendly. My only negative comments were the weak wifi signal, I had to stay close to the elevator to be check email. The breakfast was awesome! I definitely recommend this hotel.
This is a great hotel in a perfect location. The hotel is newly refurbished, and just a few steps from the action in the old quarter of the town. Staff very good. Public parking opposite the hotel. Highly recommended.
This hotel is in a great location right in the heart of the city, between the new and old towns. The town is small so you can walk everywhere. The service was great - the reception staff tried to help out where they could with directions etc. The hotel was renovated in Jan 2009 so everything is very modern and clean. The buffet breakfast was included in our price, it had lots on offer and was a good standard. I would recommend this highly.
Make sure you get an external room, i.e. one facing the street. For the first two nights we stayed in a room facing a light shaft and it was absolutely appalling: it was tiny and you could hear all noises echoing from the other rooms facing the light-shaft. Also, it was mosquito-infested. Upon our request, we moved to a room facing the street and, although noisy, it did not have the problems associated with the inner room. Overall, the hotel has a great location and the staff is very friendly and helpful, just watch out which quarter you get!
Wow!! Super facility with a fabulous location. The staff spoke about as much English as we spoke Spanish but they bent over backwards trying to understand our requests and were extremely accomodating. I would definately stay here again if in the area.
This hotel is in a great location, unfortunately the decor sometimes doesn't live up to its 4 star rating. The staff are great and extremely helpful. I would certainly recommend it.
Excellent location near old town and cathedral. Hotel is a bit old and needs updating. Room a bit on the small side. Bed was smaller than expected for two people, and not very comfortable as it was too soft. Very friendly service at front desk and from bellhop. A bit a street noise (can hear pedestrian signal chirping at night). Take a taxi from the train station - it is easier than walking uphill! Internet was not working, but internet shop BBIGG is a couple blocks away and offers good values for internet access. Overall, a good solid place to stay.
excellent location, but lack of air conditioning in our room could have been uncomfortable in summer, and the frosted window which overlooked a courtyard wasn't very pretty some of the rooms had balconys..i suppose the very good price we paid reflected in the room we got, breakfast was very good the internet connection on the pc in the lobby is €3 per 15 mins....down the road in an internet cafe its €1 per hour!! staff were very pleasant and i would stay there again
Good overall. Friendly and helpful staff. The location is very convenient: walking distance from all the main tourist spots.
Great position and appearance - looks like a castle from outside! Rooms fine, clean, good. Staff were friendly and helpful, but tiny lobby, no bar / gym etc. Do not miss the superb buffet breakfast!
Stayed at this hotel 3 times in last 10 weeks. Same good standards of cleanliness and service on all 3 occasions. Breakfast quality and choice excellent. Eaten dinner at hotel twice. Overall good impression and superb location to explore old part of Santiago
Excellent value for money. Ideally located to explore the historic parts of Santiago. Helpful and considerate staff. Restaurant above average. Overall very satisfied with our short stay at this hotel.
A good welcome with friendly and helpful English-speaking reception staff. The room was smart, comfortable and spacious. Excellent location, close to everything one wants in Santiago. Good value too. We would definately use this hotel again, or others in the same chain elsewhere in Spain.
Generally very good , staff helpfull and friendly. Could do with lounge facility but otherwise exellent
All staff were very helpful & friedly. In particular I would like to commend the efforts of the young lady on the "guest customer service desk" who went out of her way to provide information & help to make our stay so enjoyable. The hotel location is excellent for getting on foot quickly to all the main sites.
