The continental was perfect for our needs. It was a small but tidy room. Fantastic location. 3 mins from central station and the red light district. Very cheap for amsterdam. We were on the 1st floor which gave us some street noise, but we still slept very well anyway. Overall, if you are on a budget this is a great place to stay.

The hotel is neglected. With a better service, it could be an excellent place to stay in Amsterdam. There is no elevator and no breakfast room. You can not beat the location , though.

I thing it's very nice hotel for the people who want to go to visit Amsterdam for a few days. Great location and the staff is super nice. I think quality-price is really good.

This hotel is very close to the train station and not far from the red light district. One thing though, it does not have a lift so it's not fun climbing Amsterdam stairs with large suitcases.

This place was small but fairly clean. It was in a good location near the RLD and the Dam Square. Near to the Central Station as well. Overall nothing special, but OK to stay in. Get your own ensuite as well ...

I've been to this hotel twice now and the location is definitely what sells it. The prices aren't bad, the service is friendly and it is relatively clean (apart from the shared bathroom facilities which other guests make messy). I would definitely stay here again if I was going to Amsterdam for a few days on a cheap trip, but if I was looking for a fancy, high-class kind of place, I'd probably look elsewhere.

The single room was very small. No shower in the room, but this turned out not to be a problem, as I never ran into to anyone on my way to the shower. The desk clerk kept asking me to leave my key at the desk whenever I went out after dark, and when I refused, he told me his staff had access to the master key anyway. So .. a little creepy .. Very clean.. close to dam square bank machines, great fries with mayonayse on the corner. Really really close to the red light district. and Great coffee shops.

As it is on a main street in central Amsterdam, there was a lot of noise from trams and people going by. The room was very small. The shower was broken during our 2 night stay. But it was quite inexpensive and the location was handy for all the city centre attractions, the staff were helpful and polite, and it was very clean.

the rooms were small and dirty there was no elevators only stairs so after 20 hours of travelling we had to climb 4 flights of stairs to get to a dirty small room big enough gor 1 person with mouldy ceilings and no washroom facilities in our room. and we were expected to sleep 3 people there. it was across from the red light district area though just down from dam square and its a great location so if you dont care about cleanliness then go for it. its 41 damrack street.

If you don't mind little space, want to stay in the city center and don't want to spend all your money - this is a great choice. Nothing fancy, but we had a great stay. We spent all the time in the city anyway, if you want to have a hotel room, where you can spend time, probably you'll need a little more space. But for a young couple it's very fine.

Very noisy, despite room on top floor. Clean, but drafty and cramped. Pretty small bed for two people. No washing basin in bathroom. Murderous stairs and no elevator. Central location and friendly staff. Does not live up to the name and internet description...

There is no elevator, and it can get very difficult to carry luggage up or down the steep, narrow, winding stairs. The bathrooms were clean and updated, but rooms very small. You may want to take your own towel as they don't replace with new towels everyday. We did have a clogged shower when we arrived, but they did fix it the next day. Service was friendly, and very close to red light district, cheap internet cafe, public transportation and central station.

The heater was on and the room closed up when I arrived. This made the room too hot and stuffy. I had to leave the window open all night as I didn't know how to turn the heater down. It was a bit noisy from the street with the window open all night. Suggest that the heater been set at a low setting and that instructions for the heater be left in the room. Everything else was very good.

An excellent cheap hotel right opposite the grass hopper and 5 mins walk from the station, which is always a bonus! really friendly reception staff-alwasy wiling to help. Rooms were clean, quite funky flooring and taps-obviously tried to upgrade themselves a bit and it look ok! A great location, 2 mins from dam square and fab coffee shops right across the road. Take earplugs as the early morning traffic can wake you up. Will definately stay again.

Great location for 1 night... room / bedding clean, but with many faults - broken telephone, broken light switch, covered up smoke alarm, lamp not working, TV remote not working. Steep stairs - may not suit everyone.
