Hotel a bit tired and showing its age but great location in a historic hotel. Some rooms being renovated at present so may get better.
Good Location! Right opposite of Louis Vuitton Shop!! and the municipal theater. room are quite big but building is old but everything is still working so I would recommend this hotel.
Nice athmospheric old hotel with large rooms but outdated bathrooms and mediocre breakfast. Location is great so at all a good value for money
A bit dowdy and in desperate need of an update (especially the bathrooms). But kept clean and serviceable. Breakfast was good and the courtyard lovely. Nice staff but most a little perfunctory.
Best Location in HCM City but a bit tired around the edges. That said - had a great stay. Rooms huge but old fashioned. Hotel very popular for functions and weekend weddings - can be very noisy. However all activity seems to stop at around 22h00/22h30.
Excellent traditional hotel in the heart of District 1. Breakfast, bar and restaurant were pretty poor but this is more than made up for by the location and price. Don't expect very good English spoken.
I guess similar to Cambodia and Laos you have two options in Saigon - either see how far you can make your money go by staying in the cheapest hotel you can find, or pay about the same as you would in your home country and enjoy a bit of luxury! If you choose the latter this hotel would be a good choice. Front of house is immaculate and very impressive, with uniformed doormen like you see in the movies. During my stay the hotel seemed to host several wedding receptions or at least the photography sessions in this area. The rooms themselves are very large and slightly worn around the edges which just adds to the class and history of the place. I always felt slightly underdressed and wondered if I should tip everyone who so much as held a door open for me. The Continental is the hotel featured in Grahame Green's "The Quiet American" which was also a feature film with Michael Caine. Nice, safe and central location opposite the opera house with the rest of the city within walking distance.
friendly staff, the try to help you in all you need. the location is perfect so near from ho chi minh attractions. I recommend it 100000%
