The Hotel Continental was originally built for the 1964 exposition in Lausanne. The hotel has 116 rooms, all recently totally refurbished (2009). The Continental offers each traveller comfort and useful technology in the room, without a great focus on service quality and cleanliness. All rooms are non-smoking and equipped with Free WIFI internet access and air conditioning. The Continental offers furthermore 3 flexible meeting rooms which have been originally decorated with a masterpiece by the world famous Swiss painter Hans Erni. The Fresques have been inaugurated at the opening in 1964 for the world exposition in Lausanne.

By Car: take the exit Lausanne Centre and follow the signs to the central railway station. The hotel is located opposite to the railway station. By Plane: Take the direct train from Geneva international airport to Lausanne central railway station. The hotel is located opposite to the railway station.

Excellence hotel with good breakfast. Will stay in this hotel again on our next visit.
Just across the road from the main railway station and provides easy access to sights, attractions and shopping using the free public transport card provided by the hotel.
For an australian standard this hotel really like a 2 stars.... but location was great... so it evens up!
Staff friendly and helpful, but my room seriously stank of years of accumulated cigarette smoke. Horrible. The usual scandalous charges for wifi.
Mattress was a bit old/worn, but everything else was great!
Right opposite the station, so quite handy, but with the topography of Lausanne it can be a steep climb up to where most of the bars and restaurants are. For the price I paid this was a good hotel, with decent sized room, but beware if booking in summer, there is no air conditioning. I have returned here, so that tells you I was quite happy.

Very basic and inexpensive, especially for Switzerland. It's not a fantastic hotel, but you get what you pay for and it's just across the street from the station, so very convenient if you're just on your way through Lausanne.

Very friendly, helpful staff who point you in the right direction for excellent chocolate! Comfirtable hotel with a cafe downstairs which is good when returning from a day trip. Breakfast pleasant, but be prepared to speak french only to staff at breakfast room.

We stayed one week and we had a really good stay. The hotel was in good shape despite it was 40 years and the service was excellent. The hotel was in an excellent location. The staff was wonderful and it made our stay even better. I have only good comments to give and I will recommend the hotel to family and friends.
