"The hotel was excellent but like most hotels in NZ even to this standard, do not have airconditiong in the rooms. This made things a little uncomfortable as the weather was very hot and humid. They did however provide a fan on request. Would certainly stay at this hotel again." - david whitworth


"The Copthorne is our favorate place to unwind. Waking to see the sun on the beautiful bay waters,is so peaceful. Ample breakfast sets you up for the day.So much to see and do, out on the Bay and on land. Starting with the Treaty House and visitors centre 5 mins walk along the grass. The hotel pools are clean and the spa is hot. The staff friendly , food very good,rooms have comfortable chairs inside and out on the deck, what more could you want? " - Annette Davidson

Getting there: Follow State Highway 1 north from Auckland for just 3 hours to the Bay of Islands. Leave SH 1 at Kawakawa following signs for the Bay of Islands and Paihia. Drive through Paihia and in two minutes you will be at a roundabout, turn right for Waitangi, cross the bridge and the hotel is in front of you.
