Not knowing the whereabouts of the resort, we asked at the main tourist office in Paihia. The kind lady took me into the street and pointed Northwards to a large building occupying a promentory, lamenting that so many tourists asked the same "where is it" question. The resort sits just across a bridge to the north of Paihia and is enormous. The rooms are tastefully decorated to a four star international standard. Breakfast is not included in the tariff and parking was a bit tight , however the quality of the amenities made up for it.
Great breakfast and outdoor Hot pool was relaxing

Lovely location and as always a pleasure to stay here. Friendly, professional staff in a well appointed hotel, can't wait to go back.
Good quality value hotel
Excellence place for room facing bay ...quiet and great view. Food average ..birds and flys in coffee shop . some plates no so clean
Rooms were ok for the price, curtains in the room going mouldy, need cleaned
Fantastic place, the grounds and facilities were beautiful!
Hotel is in a wonderful position, with excellent views across the bay to Russell. Wonderful buffet hot breakfast, would thoroughly recommended paying the extra when booking. Would book again if staying in this area of New Zealand
The room did need some maintenance as the bathroom was not quite up to scratch and the carpet was fraying in several places
Great Hotel. Accommodation and breakfast only. Very much enjoyed the full buffet breakfast. Staff were great.
Very good. Surprised that they required a $300.00 bond when we had prepaid and protested about this. Breakfasts good, dinners only so-so.
very pleasent stay. My friend left a top behind and it was couriered back promptly
The bay view rooms, on the ground floor we fantastically close to the water. The food served in the restaurant was good enough to persuade you not to leave the hotel for dinner. The staff are friendly willing to assist with anything. Definitely recommend staying there just for location alone. It is a good 20min walk into Pahia so a car makes it more convenient. There is a free shuttle to and from Pahia as well. For couples, avoid school holidays as there is no separation from younger guests if needed.
Beautifully located in park like grounds in the Bay of Islands. Right next door to the Treaty House. Great swimming pool complex including a hot pool. Food excellent and reasonably priced. Good sized room - all facilities spotlessly clean. All in all very good value for money.
I didn't realise we'd be staying at a hotel which catered for a large and constant coach business which felt we were eating in a canteen. Regardless of our menu being a la carte. Not something I'd have signed up for willingly or will again. The room's ceiling fan couldn't be used as it seemed to be overheating so we had a couple of uncomfortable nights. The reception staff were really friendly as was the overworked dinner and breakfast staff.
A pleasant stay in a rather average-looking hotel (when judged from the outside). We had an ocean-facing room, comfortable, large, well-appointed (except for coat-hangers) and ten steps from the water. Very pleasant indeed. Facilities were good, as was the breakfast but the staff did not go out of their way to make one feel welcome or special. However, the whole experience was pleasant and the setting is lovely.
2nd stay at this hotel Found convenient and price good Was not happy with having been given a Disabled room with out being advised first
Units a bit tired inside and out. Deck in front of units in poor condition and needs to be about a metre wider to be useable.
Excellent location; very peaceful. We booked a standard room with breakfast. Room was at the back of the hotel and without a sea view, but nonetheless OK. Breakfasts were a bit disappointing. I suspect it's best to be early (although they state breakfast are from 6.30 - 10.00) Had to wait ages for an egg to be cooked adn the rest of the food was a bit lack-lustre.
On ocassion room make-up and clean service understaffed, caused late to mid afternoon make-up schedule. Resort carpark space near main entrance is usually full and that's on a quiet week day. Resort front-end and catering staff are very good.
