My wife and I stayed on our way home after a week further south. We enjoyed our room, with the lovely sea view, and the evening meal and will be recommending this hotel to friends/relations who intend to travel round that beautful Hokianga Harbour.

The stay was made by the outstanding service provided by all the staff. We have never visited this part of the country before but the staff really put in an outstanding effort which helped make our stay enjoyable and a real pleasure. Thank You.

The facilities were marked "Average" as there was a fault with the hot water system as it flowed cold halfway through the first shower.

WOnderful location and excellent facilities but the service in the restaurant was very poor compared with our last visit 2 years ago. There were no experienced staff on duty and the waitress appeared with our main courses midway through the starter. She took the plates away but obviously stuck them back in an oven of some sort since both meals were dried out / burnt when she later returned them to our table. The service was no better at breakfast the following morning - there were no tea-spoons in the dining room, the sugar bowl contained a dirty soup spoon, no one appeared to replenish the milk jugs, and the fresh fruit was clearly rotten and inedible. This hotel is in desperate need of professional hands on-management.

Hotel restaurant is overly expensive. There's a very good fish n chips shop in nearby Opononi instead. The setting is stunning and the hotel staff are friendly. Paying extra for sea-views is recommended.

A great setting, comfortable place to stay, great restaurant and service. If only all the rooms were water front!

We were lucky to get a beach front room, excellent views, great food on the deck overlooking the pool / sea. Noise did travel through the walls, so not good when a big party / wedding being held. Ideal location for a holiday in a location where you can enjoy the quiet away from the highly commercialised areas of some other destinations.
