"These pretty standard but nice hotel rooms are best enjoyed from your private balcony overlooking the lovely pool area and the sea. This hotel is then elevated to being a great place to stay for a night or two. The price is good also especially when you include the breakfast. Having said that, the breakfast buffet is not fantastic - most of the cooked food is cold and/or undercooked. And if you're a coffee snob like me, buy your coffee from the expresso bar in the lobby! Getting There:

Follow State Highway 1 north from Auckland for just 3 hours to the Bay of Islands. Leave SH 1 at Kawakawa following signs for the Bay of Islands and Paihia. Drive through Paihia and in two minutes you will be at a roundabout, turn right for Waitangi, cross the bridge and the hotel is in front of you.
