Getting there:By Car - The motor way is well sign posted for directions to Oriental Bay. Copthorne Hotel Wellington Oriental Bay is about 200m along Oriental Parade from the North. By Rail or Bus - Wellington Rail Station is 1.5km from the Hotel. Metro trains & national lines arrive and depart from here, and this is also the Bus Station for intercity passengers. A taxi costs $10 - $15. By Air - Wellington Airport serves national and international flights and is 8 kms from the hotel. There is a taxi stand at the front entrance of the Terminal. Street maps available at Airport Visitor Information Centre should you be driving. All major Rental Car Companies have a service from the airport. Taxi from the Airport costs $25 - $30. By Sea - The Interisland Line sail between the North & South Island for both cars and passengers. Easy drive from the ferry terminal to the hotel and the route is well sign posted. Taxi cost $25-$30.

Child Policy:Children aged up to and including 13 years of age are deemed to be a child. Children 14 years of age and and over are considered an adult.
Overall it is good. But one thing is disappointed about the online booking system. We had booked 3 rooms of $304 each via online without credit. A family of friend booked a room directly from the hotel, of $159 which stayed on the same day with $50 credit. Could not understand why there is a big different pricing. Therefore, I would suggest booking via the hotel directly.
Certainly pay for great location! Bathroom very small with bath towels to match.Would expect a larger bed for the rate charged.

Rally the troops! A spacious family room inclusive of breakfast for 2 adults and up to 2 children. Kids also eat free with 2 paying adults for dinner, and receive a free kids cocktail! Great location,close to everything. The views were outstanding, as were the rooms. The staff were polite, helpful, and cheery, offering to assist with things that even we hadn't thought of during our stay. The rooms were very spacious, very clean, and private. I enjoyed staying in a hotel that blocked out all the outside noise. Highly recommend the Copthorne to all, business, families, couples etc. We will be back to stay sometime......thanks.
Great location at the edge of town on the waterfront (5-mins walk into the city centre). Views from most rooms out over Wellington harbour. I have stayed here a few times, its an above average hotel with consistent service, clean & comfortable rooms.
Great rooms, superb views and excellent service. Not much to be critical of except it isn't particularly cheap (but does represent good value).

We really enjoyed our stay. The staff were all very helpful and the family package was good value for money. Good location close to Te Papa museum.
This hotel is more suited to adults rather than families with children. I would go back alone but not with my kids. The room was clean, the view lovely and the staff are excellent.

We enjoyed our weekend at The Copthorne , It was handy to Te Papa etc and our room had a great view of the harbour and a King bed which we always seek out .
Everything from start to finish could not be faulted. The very helpful staff, excellent service from the front desk right through everyone was of a very high standard. The meals, the room, the facilities and cleanliness were faultless. Thanks to everyone for helping to make our stay so memorable.
Nice room but was expecting a far better view was on the bottom floor litle trouble also to find our booking lucky I had the paper work average breakfast but all in all an enjoyable stay one of the better wellington hotels
really happy with hotel - though would have been useful to have an indication somewhere that in order for the heat to work the fan needed to be set on low! of course did find out through ringing the front desk about midnight, but I've never seen that anywhere else.
