Getting there:Hotel Corona D' Italia is situated in the historical centre of Florence in the immediate vicinity of the Duomo, two minutes on walk from the main train station and right behind the Congress Palace and the Fortezza da Basso, the main exhibitions centre in Florence. By Car -coming from northern Italy (Milano-Bologna): exit from the highway A1 at “Firenze Nord”, then take direction “Centro”. -coming from southern Italy (Roma-Napoli): exit from the highway A1 at “Firenze Sud”, then take direction “Centro”. coming from western Italy (Pisa Airport-Genova): exit from the highway A11, then take direction “Centro”. When you are near the Main Train Station, just follow the map you will find in our web-site (www.hotelcoronaditalia.com) Florence Airport is 8 km from our Hotel. From there to the center is about 15 minutes by taxi or by bus-shuttle.

When I walked up to the hotel, I was thinking that I had made a big mistake. I needed a place to stay just for the evening that wasn't too far from the train station. I was pleasantly surprised. The interior was much better than the outside. I found the staff to be very friendly and helpful. My room was comfortable complete with a safe and refrigerator. Unlike other rooms that I have had in Italy, I appreciated having a shower with full shower curtain. The floors are tile and were clean. Breakfast was hearty with the traditional breads, cold cuts and cheese. Ordered a cappuccino which was far better than the "American coffee". The location was fantastic. The hotel is a 5 minute walk to the train station, 1 minute to the markets and the Basilica San Lorenzo, and 10 minutes max to the Duomo and Uffizi Gallery.
We had a very nice stay @ this hotel. We stayed with our 14 yr old daughter in a 'triple'. The room was very clean. The breakfast was great with a big variety of options, including fresh fruit, yogurt, cold cuts, hard boiled eggs, rolls, croissants, 3 - 4 different pastries, rolls, and breads. The location is ideal; within walking distance to The Academia, The Uffizi, the Duomo, Ponte Vecchio, the open market, the leather market, etc. much shopping and many many restaurants. We walked everywhere all week, never took a cab. My parents will be visiting the same area in the Spring and will be staying at the same hotel.

The hotel staff were extremely helpful. They gave us an idea of what to do and there suggestions were very helpful. Breakfast was included which was very unusual for all the hotels we were in so far.

The hotel is wheelcair friendly and the rooms are rather large for European standards. The room has a bath and a shower and I am sure the hotel can provide a chair for transferring to shower. The location is excellent and I could push tp most places. I can recommend this hotel.

Great hotel very close to the train station and in the heart of everything - easy walk to Duomo and most other sites and markets just on the hotel corner. Staff helped us find another hotel when we arrived a day early and accepted us back early the next day with the room ready at about nine in the morning. Best hotel we've had in Italy and reasonable price.
The location was very convenient as you could walk down through the markets and be at the Duomo in about 5 minutes or the train station within 2 minutes. The staff were friendly and helpful and the phone in my room was not working so they moved me to another room within minutes. The breakfast was terrific with a lot of variety and very fresh. All in all a very pleasant stay.
The location is the best aspect of this hotel. Rooms was tired but the view over the street was worth it. Service was reserved but not exactly rude. An excellent breakfast bar.
The location is excellent. Very close to the Firenze SMN train station and right next to the markets. Easy walking distance to all main attractions. We had a 3 night stay and our room wasn't cleaned properly after the first night( no new towels or clean linen on beds), however the next day all linen was replaced. Hotel staff were friendly and helpful. Cappuccinos at breakfast were great. They aren't instantly available but ask a server and you will find they will be quite happy to get one.
Wonderful hotel. Clean, simple with handsome reception staff that were very helpful. Don't order a taxi from the hotel! They charge you extra fees! Market is right around the corner from the hotel. Many nice cafes and resteraunts after the market. Will definately visit again.
Nice room great location.
We really enjoyed our stay at this hotel. It is really central, close to the bus station which was great as we arrived in the middle of the night when it had snowed for the first time in 25 years! The staff were really friendly, rooms clean it was a great place to stay. Just around the corner from a big market as well which was super!

This is the third time we have used this hotel over the past few years. Its location is excellent - close to the railway station and markets, and within easy walking distance of all the tourist attractions. We would certainly stay there again.
