Cradle Chalet is a little different to many of the accommodation options in the Cradle Mountain region having developed a reputation as a unique, privately owned and operated, boutique, wilderness lodge focused on catering to smaller numbers of guests with more personal service.

Moina and Cradle Chalet are 150 km west of Launceston and 85 km south of Devonport.
The driving time from Launceston is around 2 hours. and from Devonport 1.5 hours.
Hobart is about 4 hours via the Midlands Highway through Ross - or 6 hours 30 mins by the Lyell Highway through Queenstown.
Launceston airport is 20 minutes drive from Launceston and a 1.5 hour drive to Cradle Chalet.
Moina is a wilderness location so it is essential to analyse the map and be aware of driving times and road considerations before you leave on your trip .
It is preferable to arrive before night fall because after dark it is more difficult to navigate (and you may be sharing the roads with the local wildlife!)
If you are going to be late call ahead to Cradle Chalet - and also keep in mind that you will need to make a reservation for the restaurant 24 hours ahead.
