We provide FREE CONTINENTENTAL BREAKFAST Originally built in 1932 in the Art Deco/Spanish Mission style as a luxury hotel it is now refurbished to a Qualmark 4 Star Plus Premium Backpacker Hostel. It is one of the most photographed building on the Art Deco Walk and is a just a short stroll from the Visitor Information Centre, beach, bus depot and Ocean Spa.

Getting there:
We are on 48 Emerson St, on the corner of Emerson & Hastings St. Opposite the ANZ, ASB and National banks.

Reception Hours - 8.30am - 8.30pm Check In - 1pm - 8.30pm Checkout - 10am Please note our reception closes at 8.30pm

Car parking:
We can tell you your parking options when you arrive. 1) Free parking 2) Our private parking - $5 per day 3) Secured parking - In Ocean Boulevard, 2 minutes walk from Hostel ($15 per day)

This was more like a hotel than a backpackers. Enjoyed our stay and will recommend to others. Not enough parking for our car so had to park a distance from the accommodation on side of road.

Gave location a bad rating as there wasn't any parking available. Ok, maybe I should have checked this before hand and more than likely not a problem for backpackers who normally don't have vehicles. Was a really big pain in the butt for me though. If it hadn't have been a weekend I would have had to pay normal metered parking rates. Apart from that gripe, totally recommend it. Staff were very friendly, rooms clean and at a decent price!
