For what we paid, it was great! The building is currently being refurbished bit by bit, which only added to the quirky side of it (you got to 'walk through walls' where a pane of glass would be, instead of the door. Our room was great - two-levelled. Beds were very good. Lovely bunch of people running it - really helpful and sweet.
Pros -Free internet access if you have laptop. PC for internet surfing available at cheap rate. -Staff is friendly -Location is very good. near to Gloucester station(Tube) -Grocery stores are nearby Cons -Place is a little rundown Overall You pay for what you get. Hotel is stayable.
Considering the price I paid, it was a very reasonable hotel. A bit run down, and the beds in most of the rooms are not very good. Old matrasses etc....
It's cheap but not so tidy. All in all, that can be recommended
The hotel needs total renovation and needs to be cleand more properly, but I guess the current situations coresponds to the pricing policy. I liked the free wireless access in the lobby though.
Incredibly inexpensive, given it's location, however, low price is reflected by the overall condition of hotel which is generally run-down and in need of refurbishment. Something which, in fareness, seems to be gradually taking place. Only one toilet/shower combo per floor, each of which appeared to contain 10 rooms. Consequently, one often had to visit other floors looking for a vacant toilet, and because the toilets are in the same rooms as the showers, the floors were always covered in water. Our room was ill-designed for 2 beds, both of which were old and worn, with neither head nor foot boards. Both had old mattresses with broken springs, that one spent the night trying to avoid being stabbed by, and a single thin, lifeless pillow. No tea/coffee making facilities provided in bedrooms. Computer available in reception area, but not working at the time.
If you're looking for good value accomadation in central London this hotel is great. Only a short walk to the nearest tube station, Gloucester Rd. I would not hesitate to stay here when I visit London again.
Cheap and good location.
The only issue was the hygiene of the bathroom sink area and worse the bath/shower. Only used the sink.Would not touch the bath/shower hygiene to poor. The shower unit needs replacing or take it away, the bath just needs a good scrub.
Very central location, but more than 5 minutes walk to Glouchester Road station! Clean, but terribly old and worn!!!!! Some renovations are beeing done, but long way to go!!!! Breakfast OK, but nothing fancy!!! The worst part are the beds!!!! They are bad. cover matras missing, so you lay straigth on to the springs!!! It is Painful! 1 night is OK, 2 is torture!!! (Even if the price is fair, I would say it is not worth it!)
room was hot & could not turn radiator down (no Knob). So had to open window, Hence too noisy to sleep even with earplugs in.Would not use this hotel again.
The hotel is pretty basic. The decor is in dire need of updating and cleaning (although the actualy facilities are clean enough). Kinda get a Blackpool B&B feeling about the place! Lack of plug sockets in the room (only had 2 under the desk, 1 in use for the TV which also took up all the desk space). At the end of the day, it's cheap, and probably suffcient if you're only after a 1 night stay. Plenty of Italian restaurants over the road! (Based on a stay in a single room with shared facilities)
I want to stay this hotel again if I visit London again. Location is very good. We can go anywhere easily by tube or by bus. There are 2 big supermakets near this hotel. Staff is very kind and earnest. Breakfast is not so bad. We can eat continental breakfast. Rooms, sheets, bath and toilets are kept clean. But you have to bring a dryer if you need it. Our twin room was very small. But room rates are lower than any other hotels.
Hotel served its purpose as somewhere to stay after late night shift work. Pitty no Tea / Coffee facilities in the room!
Was expecting a hell hole after reading reviews but was pleasantly surprised. Very very basic but room had clean sheets and towels, a sink and a balcony. TV worked fine too. Shared bathroom was clean when we got there, not so clean after a day or two but still not too bad. Bed was very uncomfortable and walls were thin, but for £40 a double room a night can't really complain.
Walls are paper thin and rooms are tiny. Location is close to metro and bus, though.
Basic but good value, good location, fairly clean and fairly well run.
A good hotel if your on a budget. Slightly run down (peeling paint, small holes) but nothing serious which caused any sort of problem. Friendly staff, however breakfast consists of only a drink of juice, coffee/tea, cornflakes and toast. I found no big problems with this hotel and plan on staying again in the near future. The perfect place if you want somewhere in a good location but relatively cheap in London.
This hotel could really do with a coat of paint. Shabb!
Absolutely great location ! Hotel itself was in need of renovation and the staff were vague and not helpful. Our room was in basement and smelt of bleach.
