We had a standard double room - a little small, but it was fine for our 2-night stay. The bathroom was in need of a 'refurb' and a spray of 'exit mould' in a couple of spots, but apart from that we could not complain. It was very good value for money. We were in Melbourne for a show at Her Majesty's Theatre, so the Crossley was superbly located. only 150 metres (if that) from the theatre. Restaurant offered very affordable meal prices, so we dined there before walking to the show. Again it was good value for money - it was quite busy and the service could not be faulted. We noticed a number of diners were not from the hotel. Usually a good sign when theatre-goers frequent a nearby restaurant. The Crossley is not a Sheraton or Westin, so were not expecting anything 'out of the box', but it was ideal for our needs and we were more than happy for the price we paid. We would definitely use this hotel again for a Melbourne short-stay.
This hotel is in a handy location, close to the mall and a 2 minute walk from trams. I was however disappointed with the bathroom - dark and mouldy, very old and dated. Also, a mini bar service was advertised with a note saying "help yourself to complimentary items", except the mini bar was empty !
Great location for anyone wanting to go to the theatres and interested in dining in China Town. Right in the hub of it all. Very comfortable rooms, excellent place to stay
good location- near the theatre area of Melbourne- easy walking distance to all locations- one of the lifts was a bit rough and did not always line up with the floor. Room size was good and always cleaned promptly
Located just up from China town therefore the Crossley is in a great spot. Very quiet and and good size room.
Staff were always polite and helpful. Room was clean and was cleaned daily, but we opted to have it only every other which they were fine with. Well located for exploring the city but not on a busy street. Close to food and theater distract. But also a minute walk from free tram service to goto anywhere in melbourne central. Great value aswell. It's no palace if you're looking for luxuary, but definatly suited a 5 night stay as a sightseer. I would stay there again.
Hotel was extremely well located for the theatre district. Restaurant provided breakfast only which I did not realise. After checking in had difficulty using cards to access rooms and had to have them re-keyed twice. The choice of pillows was appreciated by my guest. Staff were helpful and willing to assist.
Nice hotel in good location just by Chinatown. Internet access expensive, and sometimes impossible to log off after you finish, so you end up being charged for the whole 24 hours!
The hotel situates in a quiet yet elegant street close to many theatures, restaurant and beautiful cafes. Staff are extremely friendly and helpful. Rooms are clean and well facilitated. This is not a luxury hotel but one gives you a good place to rest, relax and if you have to be like me, work. Fantastic business botique hotel!
it was in a very good position for the theatre,s &the free tram. only a block away to the tram into the mall. a comfortable walk to federation square. would recommend this hotel to anyone
For the price we paid I expected the room to be cleaner. The location and service were good.
Boutique so not a lot of facilities, but access to facilities nearby if required. Well positioned CBD for business, resturants and entertainment.
The rooms were small but had everything we needed for an overnight stay. The bath/shower had a few cracks in it which looked dirty, however the shower itself worked like a treat and was fabulous. For a one night stay it was perfect. We did not use the restaurant so I can't comment on that. For anything longer than a one night stay I would want a bit more room.
We asked for pillows and were told 20 minutes but we had to ring back after waiting much longer than that. Also the hot water tap on the shower had to run for ages before any warm water came out - not good in a state conserving water!
The hotel ws very clean and we were welcomed very warmly when we arrived early. The restaurant was not very upmarket and this would be the only complaint that we had.
My wife and I spent one night at the Crossley Hotel Melbourne and were very pleased with our choice. The staff were cheerful and friendly and our double room was spacious and elegant. The location is ideal for going to the theatre or if venturing a little further afield it's just a short walk to a tram stop. It's also nice and quiet which is a big plus.
motel itself was very good , bar and restaurant left a lot to be desired. went for dinner and drink but could get no service at either
Enjoyable place to stay and close to everything needed.
