One of the best value Hotels in London, and in a great location if you need to be in the Dockside area, or near London Airport & The 02 Arena. Sadly the bar has no drinkable ale but the food is good and The Chinese Restuarant is one of my favourite places to eat.
Clean and modern facilities. EXcellent breakfast-variety and very clean. Excellent pub alongside. Across street from Excel.
Standard Double bed with airconditioning, ensuite with shower.
Standard Double bed, ensuite with shower.
Twin room with 2 Single beds with airconditioning, ensuite with shower.
The hotel was spotlessly clean, the front desk and customer service was excellent and the room (a superior double)although a little small was perfectly adequate for a one night (saturday) overnight stay. I would highly recommend the Custom House and will certainly stay again in the future.
We were going to the O2 so this is the best place to stay, the surrounding area is not great but if you walk over the bridge near excel its a nice walk on the other side of the bank. The Carribean bar is really friendly and a nice place to have a drink. The Custom House is a really nice hotel and we wil definitely stay there again when we are going to the O2,great cooked breakfast as well.
Excellent location for the O2. Not a huge choice for breakfast. Would stay there again.
Very well located hotel for Excel and O2. It is also opposite a DLR station. The ensuite is prefabricated and quite small but perfectly adequate for a short stay. The only criticism I have is both mornings we were there we had a powercut for 2 hours otherwise a very convenient hotel for the price.
Positive surprise, best 3 star London hotel I've stayed in. Good food both in the pleasant pub and the cafeteria. Very good continental breakfast (for a UK hotel).
The walls for our room were not very sound proof, so there was some noise quite late on one night. This hotel was reasonably priced and right next to the train station for very the frequent Docklands Light Railway service to central London.
The hotel was clean and comfortable, the staff polite and helpful and nothing went wrong. The food in the restaurant/pub attached was also pretty good. No complaints at all.
Really great location. Fairly basic accomodation but all that you need. Decent breakfast. Good bar / restaurant on site.
Hotel is very close to City airport and across the road from the DLR station. It is about 45 minutes by train to the centre of the West End.
Rooms are very small and slightly claustrophobic, especially the toilet and the shower modules. No space for luggage. Nothing for a long stay.
The room was large and comfortable, and we had a disabled shower/ensuite (we are not disabled), but we understand that the hotel was full that night due to event on at Excel. Some noise from revellers outside but this was not related to the hotel. We did not have breakfast there as we felt £7+ in advance or £9+ in morning was excessive. Obviously that is where the money is made.Location is great for events at Excel or 02.
Very helpful staff, especially sorting out a free late checkout!!
The service was superb, again, the staff were polite, friendly and prompt in sorting out our needs. The rooms were very clean and tidy as usual. This is why we return here to stay every time that we need to visit London.
This is the 5th time ive stayed here since june 09 and would certainly recommend it.
All I wanted was a cheap room as close as possible to the Excel Centre. The room was quiet, clean and comfortable enough to get some rest and have a decent shower. I was not looking for any luxuries. This fitted the bill perfectly.
I found the room to be very clean however the shower cubicle is far too small The facilities for eating and drinking were adequate
Great value, no nonsense Hotel - perfect if you are visiting eXcel, and staying on a budget
I have stayed here in the past and a refurbishment has been completed since my previous stay. Rooms are very comfortable - though would suggest a superior room in the middle of summer as the standard rooms get very hot even in mid May. The standard rooms do not have an A/C.Breakfast is good with a lot of variety. An extra 4 pounds to upgrade from continental to full English (if you wanted hot food). The fact that it is just 100m from the DLR makes it convient for Central London. Also serviced by a couple of bus routes. There is a small local village around the corner - laundry, grocery, hairdresser, Chinese and a few other takeaways. To get to ASDA at Beckton is 10 minute ride on the DLR. Gallion Reach which is a large shopping centre is only 20 minutes away.I will stay here again.
